"In the Summer of 1962 I used to walk by here while reading meters for NYSEG, and I noticed the Dictator-type mortar (not sure if it was the one known as the Dictator at Petersburg, VA or another one like it) on display out in front, to the left of the entrance when facing the building from the sidewalk. In the 1970's on my way home from going to Church in the Odd Fellows building, I drove by here, hoping to show my children something interesting but it was gone. I never asked anyone where or why, too bad it is not there, it was a very appropriate addition to the history of the building."
