The Laundromat

"This place was okay but it’s just gotten worse and worse over time. There are people hanging out there who clearly aren’t customers: smoking inside, doing AND dealing drugs, intimidating customers and loitering; and this is going on at ANY time of the day, it doesn’t matter what time you go, you won’t be able to avoid it. It’s also impossible to do laundry in peace without being interrupted by someone asking for money. On top of that the machines aren’t supervised or cleaned regularly, the accumulation of soap gunk in the soap trays of most of the machines has to be a case study for chemists because if defies logic. I go there because it’s really close and convenient for me but at this point I rather go to a laundromat further away and avoid that mess of a place."

"Don't usually leave reviews but... I come here because of the parking but it's not the cleanest, you don't want to use the bathroom here and just as I put 20 on this card I see a bunch of junkies in the corner sticking needles in their arms. Is it possible to get my 20 back?"

"I was a bit surprised at so many negative reviews. I was there just this morning for the first time and my experience wasn't bad at all. I liked that it was open 24-hours and allowed me to fold my own clothes (some laundromats near my home make me put everything in the bag and leave, once out of the dryer). In these times, both are hard to find! For me anyway... As others have said, this place is quite spacious. I didn't count how many washers, but there must have been at least 60 (in several sizes). I did see that the dryers count (all lined up against the walls) went up to SEVENTY SIX! It was pretty sparse at 06:15AM on a Sunday morning, but by 08:00AM people began to stream in. No more coins to operate the machines - they now take a "money card" that must be purchased (one time only) for $2. If you add $10 to the card, then you get a $1 credit. $20 will get you $3, so the card is essentially free if you add that much. My clothes came out just fine (then again, they weren't very soiled). The dryers were pretty hot ($0.35 for 8 minutes). I did notice that the floors and the areas around the washers could be cleaner. The sink area was kinda rough. I think these knocks can be easily rectified, if the effort was applied. I saw one staff member, until an older Asian lady came in so there were two. One of the best attributes of this place is that there is actually a small parking lot right in front. I drove from the E Village (10 minutes at that time) and it was quite convenient for me. I'll be returning soon for my linens. Hey, in these times we should be grateful to have a place like this available to us. Happy mother's day!"

"I feel dirtier when I come here to do laundry. Machines are so old that no matter how much you add detergent there is no foam. This is one of the worst laundromat I’ve seen in New York City and wish our building had a laundromat"
