"This is by far my favorite library and I don’t want to gatekeep, but it really is a hidden gem because it’s never crowded. As a toddler parent, this place is a dream. The kids’ area is an entire private floor dedicated to kids of all ages. They have countless activities for everyone, multiple arts and crafts areas, a lego wall, a magnetic wall, a dollhouse kitchen loaded with pretend food and shopping baskets, building blocks, computers, puzzles, puppets, and of course so many children’s books. They also recently made a room for overstimulated kids and nursing moms which I just think is the most thoughtful thing any place for kids has ever thought to do. What makes it even better, every single employee there is so happy to help in any way and promptly. They don’t tell any parents to keep kids quiet, in fact, I’ve been told we’re not allowed to “shush” children in the children’s area which was so sweet. They always have something fun for the kids going on. They host recitals, talent shows, they’ve had “name the baby chicks” and kept the chicks viewable/accessible after they hatched, fun scavenger hunts, Father’s Day free custom coaster printing, etc. Everything about this library has been so thoughtfully done and well executed, and everyone -parents and kids included- I’ve ever spoken to there has been so nice and friendly, I literally never want to leave this area. Thank you PMLIB!"
"Called in today to speak with them about wanting to utilize their services to type up a screenplay. I inquired about any software, they might have, that would possibly provide a template or guide me with the format. Thought it would be an amazing addition to my story should it be successful. Imagine telling the world you typed up this screenplay, using software from your local library before stardom! Yes, the screenplay is that good. The front desk had the slightest clue. I was transferred to a librarian who would only reply with “we have Microsoft word” Clearly Microsoft word is just a blank page. I was looking for a software that guides me thru the outline/format of a screenplay. Was a little disappointed that our libraries haven’t evolved with software! Nor was the librarian suggestive outside of “we have Microsoft Word” They couldve been the catalyst for the birth of the next screenplay writer or movie producer. They’ve added 3d printers so I took a shot. Also as a Medford resident why is my library further than Selden library? Gave it stars for how easily it was to get them on the phone but they really didn’t make me feel like they were there to help or guide me. I got the “we got Microsoft word, that’s it and nothing more” demeanor"
"Makerspace is a great way to create a craft. I have worked with Kristen, Tabitha, Don and Peter. They are all such an asset to the library and I appreciate their help each and every time. I have learned a lot through their experience. Thank you all!"
"I used the laser cutter in the library makerspace yesterday to cut out wooden letters for my wedding sign...they came out so great, I'm so happy! Peter was super helpful and went above and beyond to get it just right. I am so grateful...what a great library! P.S. Every worker I encountered at the library was so friendly, it was nice to see such great customer service in a public building."
