"Very nice customer service"
"Too many trains running empty you can't sleep because too much noise"
"Many people complain about the Long Island Railroads service but it's one of the largest railroad systems in the nation, and they're constantly upgrading. With this comes costs, trials and errors; etc. Having lived in the Midwest for a bit and traveling throughout the south let me tell you I'm thankful for the Long Island Railroad because, in most suburban areas throughout the U.S. the railroad system isn't 25% as extensive as the LIRR. Many cities in the Midwest have what is called a tram which is basically a light rail meaning it has not many cars. On top of this in many cases the tram lines don't cover most of the city or suburb. Long Islanders need to travel the nation and from what they see they'll surely be thankful for the LIRR. #lirrreviews #longislandreviews #theroneshellmanmediareviews"
"Great service to and from JFK. But the ticketing process is horrible. After looking it up I discovered need to download app and purchase ticket there. And it should be coordinated with air train for one ticket to airport."
"The Long Island Railroad is a great transportation option for travel outside the city. We primarily use it to assess UBS arena and New York Islanders games. I suggest downloading the MTA app and purchasing your tickets directly through the app rather than attempting to figure out the machines on site. Conductors are kind and helpful. If you have a question on a stop ask. The conductor will scan you tickets on your phone. Wait to activate the ticket until you see the conductor coming by. Use the app to follow what track number is assigned to your destination. Ever second car has a bathroom. If the bathroom says it is out of order you will have to move about the train and find another bathroom car. For UBS Arena you will want to use either Elmont or Belmont Park stops. Belmont Park stop is a closer walk, but there are shuttles from the longer stop. After the game assess to the Long Island Railroad is right across from the priority entrance and you don’t have to run. The train gives all guests plenty of time to leave the arena."
