"Joined for a week while I was out in Oneonta on business. Great free weight gym. This gym is for experienced lifters. It's open 24 hrs with a key card. Judging by the population that I saw locally (soy boys , hippies , homeless and meth heads) , the area desperately needs a gym like this oasis of sanity for those of us that are not brainwashed or on drugs."
"...five stars because it's a good place to workout - plenty of equipment/stations/weights to exercise and strengthen all muscle groups - including cables, heavy punching and speed bag...great for speed, timing and hand-eye coordination - looking to develop a circuit training routine to improve endurance and cardiovascular. I've been there 4X, having joined last week. There's been an eclectic mix of patrons; and have had good instruction from one of the competitive lifters. It's readily apparent there's good camaraderie developed among members. I prefer the ambiance compared to a place like Hx - Links which is better suited for a social club(was a previous member). At MIM there are serious body building and competitive lifting minded people. You can workout anytime and the price is good. And it was quite impressive today witnessing a powerlifting competition ... never competed in one - However with weight/age/gender division classes gives you a personal goal and motivation to train...even for this 'Ol - timer'!"
