The Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic
About the Business
The Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic, located at the heart of Columbus, Ohio, is dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets. Our compassionate team, comprising clinical faculty, registered veterinary technicians, vet assistants, and senior veterinary students, offers a full spectrum of care tailored to meet the unique needs of each pet.
As an integral part of the Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center, our clinic operates within a state-of-the-art teaching facility. We offer a wide range of services including primary daytime care, urgent care, and emergency care, ensuring that your pets receive the best possible attention whenever they need it.
Accepting New Patients! Same-Day Appointments Available!
To schedule or cancel an appointment with our primary care practice, please give us a call. If you need to cancel an appointment, we kindly ask that you notify us in advance.
Convenient Location and Accessibility:
Don’t be intimidated by our campus address! The clinic is easily accessible, located just a short distance from the Lane Avenue exit off 315. We provide ample, free parking for your convenience.
Upon entering the Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic, you and your pet will be warmly welcomed by our customer liaisons, who will assist with registration and guide you to an exam room. A graduating veterinary student will then greet you, discuss your pet's history and the reason for your visit, and serve as your pet's care team lead. This student will be supported by a faculty clinician, registered veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants.
Our Approach:
While our facility is new, our approach to providing full-spectrum care has always been a part of our community practice. Our clinic offers graduating students the opportunity to gain real-time experience as care leads under the guidance of their faculty coaches. After discussing your visit's purpose, the graduating student will determine and discuss a treatment and diagnostic plan with you. The student, together with the faculty coach, will then implement the treatment plan, conduct any necessary diagnostic testing, determine a diagnosis, and discuss the plan of care and next steps with you.
Innovative Teaching Facility:
As a teaching facility, all exam rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment. This allows faculty clinicians to observe graduating students via two-way mirrors from an adjacent observation room. The audio and visual captures are later shared with the students to help improve their approach and oversight of cases, supporting our teaching mission. Please note, recordings will only be made with your permission.
Comprehensive On-Site Services:
All initial diagnostic testing is conducted on-site within the Spectrum of Care Clinic. Our facility is equipped with digital imaging, anesthesia services, surgical, and dental suites. If a veterinary specialist is needed, we will facilitate a referral within Ohio State's Veterinary Medical Center and assist with appointment setting.
The Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic provides a hands-on, real-world veterinary practice environment for graduating senior veterinary students. These students serve as care leads, supported by faculty clinicians and veterinary technicians, working directly with you and your pet. Upon receiving their Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, graduating students will become veterinarians who understand and embrace their role in providing comprehensive veterinary care across a broad socioeconomic continuum, developing cultural competencies, social awareness, and civic responsibility to animals and people in need.

Customer Testimonials:
"We always have a great experience at the Spectrum of Care Clinic! Everyone on the staff genuinely cares about the health of the animals, and I never have any doubts that my dog is in the best hands. They have been extremely accommodating for serious last-minute visits, and I have never felt like they’ve asked to do anything unnecessary or too expensive for the scenario at hand. Kash actually starts whining in the car when he sees where we are at in excitement for his welcome crew in the lobby!"

"Staff are great here...they are friendly, welcoming and care for your pet like family. I had several questions about medication and procedures and staff were happy to explain everything in detail. Facilities are clean and modern. This will be my new go to vet."
"The people that work there are the most caring, professional and kindest I've ever encountered at an emergency vet hospital. Everyone of them from the front desk to the doctor were so compassionate. They were honest and did not make me feel like I was just another dollar in their pockets. They made the passing of our sweet GK so much easier then it would have been. Thank you all for making me confident and in safe hands. I can't even put into words the comfort you all gave me."
"The best care around for our dog! Everyone there is friendly and they love animals. Our dog gets anxious going to any medical facility but they always calm him down and make it a positive appointment"
"I can’t say enough good things about Abby (the vet student) who cared for my cat Tito when I brought him in for URI concerns. She was incredibly patient and compassionate regarding my concerns and was very knowledgeable in both her treatment plan and explanation of test results. I left this visit feeling very reassured about Tito’s health because of Abby’s care and two weeks later he’s better than ever. Any pet would be lucky to have her!"
"The students were amazing. Dr. Peters was amazing. My cat Maevie was calm and happy. All of my questions were answered, and I felt like they listened to me. New treatment plan in place. The absolute best!!!"
