"I had a VERY disappointing experience at this salon this week. If I could choose zero stars I would. I have been trying out various nail salons over the past few months and purchased a Groupon for a gel manicure at Sharon’s Beauty Spa to see how I liked it. I’ll start with the one positive: the nail technician was pleasant and easy to talk with. However, the service I paid for was not at all what I received. The gel polish job was extremely sloppy on most of my nails: over the edges of my nails and on the skin of my fingers—not just here and there but consistently. I requested that she clean up some at the end and she made some attempts but said that the rest would come off as I washed my hands which seemed strange to me. It was not until I was on my way home that I truly saw how embarrassing of a job my nails were. My husband also immediately noticed and was very shocked. I could’ve done better on myself. At that point I was frustrated but decided I wouldn’t go back and just call it a loss. However, only 2 days later multiple nails started chipping, one after the other. This has NEVER happened with any other gel manicure I’ve gotten. After 2-3 weeks they grow out but the ends have never chipped. (I must note that I always use gloves when I wash dishes or clean to ensure that my manicure lasts longer.) So I called the salon and spoke with a manager to explain my frustration. I told her I was sick but would come in the next day and she said they could fix it. I made an effort to go in during my workday on my break the following day, by which time more nails were chipping. I spoke to the same manager (and the nail technician was also there) and respectfully explained my frustration and shows her the condition of my nails. I felt as though I was being blamed for the poor quality and the fact that the he’ll was cracking (after only 2-3 days!). I expressed that there was too much to fix and that I just wanted to have it removed and to get a refund. She stated they could not provide a refund because it was a Groupon and that if I wanted it to be removed they would have to charge me the $5 fee. (To remove a poorly job done by their establishment!) I expressed that I did not feel I should have to pay another $$ from my own pocket to rectify an issue caused by their established. She finally agreed they would remove it at no charge but that nothing else could be done. It was the most frustrating experience I’ve ever had and I am shocked at the lack of customer service. I don’t feel that a crisp and clean-edged gel manicure should be that difficult to find, and certainly had higher expectations in how the whole situation was addressed. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone and will certainly not be going back."
