"Food is so good! You can smell the freshness of croissants and pastries! We got a box with assorted flavors."
"Lễ Fournil is a French bakery in the East Village that bakes up a variety of pastries & breads onsite, serves a small coffee menu, and sells some French pantry/kitchen items. the setup is pretty simple as the space is taken up by a large counter displaying all the baked eats for sale; further in the back is a small variety of pantry items, and beyond that is where the magic aka the baking happens. the interior is very casual with a down-home cafe feel, there are a couple of tables inside and several other tables are arranged outside on the sidewalk. must orders are the raspberry or chocolate beignets—perfect amount of sugar and richness to pair with a coffee to go. you should also order the chocolate hazelnut “bretzel” which is chocolatey, nutty, and rich bc it’s a croissant twisted into a pretzel which is covered in chocolates and nuts. the drip coffee and ice coffee have both been good and pairs nicely with the baked treats. whenever i have been here, there is only one staffer handling both the coffee and bakery orders…so lines can move very slowly as one person is servicing each person individually for both drinks and food. not the best system imo, but also it’s not my business lol. anyway staff is pretty chill but can get rather chippy when it’s busy. it is what it is but the important thing to remember is order some carbs here when you’re in the neighborhood. à bientôt!"
"good bakery. we went on a sunday and got the chocolatine and pistachio filled croissant. lovely interior and classic french pastries. croissant was good but a bit burnt and neither pastry was buttery enough for a 5 star. good service and nice vibe. pistachio cream was fantastic but croissant pastry wasn’t the best. would go back to try the sandwiches though."
"In the age of the $6 pastry, the chocolate hazelnut bretzel was underwhelming. Well executed with the right amount of sweetness, more butter in the dough would have made all the difference. Will give this place another try in hopes that I caught them on an off day."
"Lovely bakery with delicious pastries and sweets. Excellent coffee. The pistachio berliner is sublime! Almond croissant is out of this world. They also have authentic imported items on display. Limited seating places which needs to be addressed."
