"Had no idea this French bakery was in the neighborhood until just recently. When you walk in, you’ll see trays and trays of freshly baked pastries. This time I just tried the croissants. The plain croissants were flaky I have to wear a little more on the salty side rather than the subtle sweetness, you could get from other places. The almond croissant was delicious."
"$4.25/ cheese Danish. The price is high but I've seen higher. Which I guess isn't saying much in this city haha. But yeah this could easily retail at $5/6 dollars. So I'd say it's about $0.50-1 below current average New York prices for artisan bakeries. Fuxking delicious. I'm glad I got the cheese Danish. Light but rich. Flaky but doughy. This is a jewel of baking craft. I've stopped by at Michaeli's before in the evening and they had run out of almost everything. If I remember correctly I think the only thing left were some mini hamentaschen. Of all the filo dough (pâte feuilletée) based pastries I've trialed in the past two months here in New York City (consult my reviews if curious) this is the most successful, most well executed one. ⚠️ There's also the factor that I came right after opening so any pastry/ baked good you try right after opening will always have the advantage of freshness. *unless they bake several times throughout the day. Anyway yes exceptional filo dough-based pastry."
"I had a Hawaij Latte, Cheese Bureka, and Halva Croissant - all delicious! The Cheese Bureka was so incredibly flaky and buttery, and the filling the perfect compliment! But there were so many tempting pastries, it was difficult to decide which to try as they all looked amazing! I look forward to returning in the future!"
"This bakery is relatively inconspicuous because there is no sign above wide bakery, likely due to the landlord's rules. There is a blackboard outside with the bakery's name on the sidewalk. It is a very popular bakery, and is open every day except on Saturdays. I tried their cherry-pistachio croissant which I felt had little flavor of those two ingredients. Its main flavor, I felt, was that of sugar. It was good, but I expected to taste more cherries, and recognize its flavor of pistachio when I ate it, which I did not. This review's star rating is based on that croissant only."
"Wonderful place! A gem in the city. High quality baked goods. I very much enjoy savory pastries so feta and cheese roll was something else. I came in early enough to get it warm freshly out of the oven. Coffee is great too!"
