"Actually 0 stars. Absolutely unacceptable behavior on behalf of customer service staff. The Dollar and Thrifty personnel at the front desk have no business keeping their jobs as they have absolutely no interest in assisting the customer or working toward solutions. No knowledge on how their busted on line check in works. Which it doesn't anyway so you'll deal in person, with the worst plebs of all. They are rude, with absolutely no communication skills. Front desk is what represents the company and in this case it is plain trash. If you want stress, rent from these people. Hertz is no better at this location. Tacky, classless behavior and when they get it back they play games. Spend the extra cash go elsewhere."
"Just because you have secured a reservation online DOES NOT mean they have a car for you. Our flight was cancelled and we reserved a car online. Paid for the taxi over and waited in a long line to be told they were out of cars after our check-in process online was complete. I would call ahead and make sure they have a car before you make any permanent plans!"
"While the team was extremely helpful in person when I checked in on July 6, outlining why coverage was needed, when I returned my car at JFK on July 10 I found that my daily rental rate was 12x more than what I received confirmation for (I was told 36.99 a day and instead was charged 455.99 a day). I was not provided any phone number to get this addressed when I returned my car, and I have submitted an inquiry online to no response. Would strongly reconsider using Thrifty (even if it seems like the cheapest option)."
"From what was a reputable company to a complete scam. I booked a car for a price. I was charged over twice that price. On renting the car, I asked about tolls. I explained that I only needed tolls on the way back to the airport. I was charged almost as much for the IPass as I was supposed to pay for the car. I returned to the airport with plenty of time to deal with the excess charges. The staff member tried to help, but the manager refused to assist. When she changed the rental car rate to what it was supposed to be (which was actually in their system as the booked rate), she added hundreds of dollars in other charges. She actually increased the Ipass charge as well. I don't believe she did that intentionally as she was genuinely trying to assist. I needed to catch an international flight, so I asked to speak directly to the manager. The manager told me that the rates on my booking didn't matter. I had to pay what she charged me. I will now spend hours and hours trying to deal with what can only be described as a scam from another country. Read the reviews and do not book with Hertz, Dollar or Thrifty."
"We rent a car from 6/1 at 19:30 and return it around 6/9 at 17:00. The rental is pay by my credit card miles. The staff didn’t gave you any documents while return the vehicle. However, we received the statement on 6/10 and charge us $92.78 for 2 extra days because it record the return date on 6/10 at 23:00 which is the time they sent out the email statement. So, beware for this tricky process to charge extra for the customers and remember get the documents while you return the car to them. “Integrity” is most important!"
