"Our vehicle has been into the service department 4 times this year (at a cost of over $6000). The initial problem has never been resolved. The method if workmanship was basically a process of elimination, paying for things along the way that did not solve the issue and we were back at square one. The key could not be recognized so we had to purchase 2 keys. That didn't work so we were advised to replace our 4 month old battery with a new Ford battery. That didn’t work. Then they replaced the Body Control Module. That did not work. Took the car back again since it kept dying and they let it sit for 4 weeks before trying to figure it out. I’m sure they didn’t want to perform any “warranty” work. Each time the car went back in, they charged a $175 diagnostic fee even though this was an on-going problem! Supposedly an update to the module ($380) was going to “fix” the issue. Car was picked up Tuesday (and jumped for us to take) and dead Wednesday morning. Service also claimed there was a coffee spill near the gear shifter which would not have caused the battery to die. After consulting with other mechanics, it appears if there’s an issue with the body control module, it can malfunction things like the radio, wipers etc which will then drain the battery. The dealership would not address this issue. Take Away-Don’t get yourself wrapped up in the “process of elimination” process to fix your vehicle, or you will be out thousands of dollars, quickly."
