"I was so excited to visit this establishment for the first time since they opened this year. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While I was greeted with a welcoming hello, the service took a turn for the worse. I found myself feeling excited by the menu and when I asked for a few minutes to decide, the gentleman at the counter failed to follow up or suggest anything to me, despite it being my first visit and me telling him this. After purchasing my meal, I inquired about customizing my order to include three thighs instead of the combo meal's one thigh and two legs, only to be told it wasn't possible. When I requested a water cup due to my diabetes and the need to drink something, I was informed that I had to purchase a drink and even a simple request for tap water was denied. This experience completely turned what could have been a positive start into a negative one, leaving a very bitter taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, based on the service I received, I'm hesitant to return to this establishment in the near future."

"Tex’s Chicken and Burgers in Selden has recently taken over the former Boston Market location, marking their foray into the local dining scene. In a quest for a delectable midnight snack, I turned to this new establishment through DoorDash, enticed by their buy one get one free chicken sandwich offer. However, my dining experience, while well-intentioned, fell short of expectations. With the order in transit, my anticipation grew as I perused their menu, eyeing the enticing mashed potatoes and gravy to complement the main course. Upon delivery, a discrepancy was noted as one of the chicken sandwiches was missing. Despite this initial setback, the sandwich I received, albeit flavorful, did not correspond to the spicy variant I had ordered, which was strike one. Strike two ensued with the revelation of ice-cold mashed potatoes and gravy, rendering the side dish unappetizing and downright disgusting! Seeking resolution, I attempted to contact the restaurant by calling them to express my concerns, to no avail. The lack of response and failure to honor the promotional offer further added to the disappointment. That was Strike 3!! As an Elite Yelper, I hold integrity in reviewing establishments I patronize, and it is regrettable to relay a subpar experience without the opportunity for redress. In recounting this experience, I aim to shed light on the issues encountered at Tex’s Chicken and Burgers in Selden, with the hope that constructive feedback may lead to rectification. As a local resident invested in supporting community businesses, I remain open to revisiting the establishment in the future, should improvements be made. It is my earnest intention to provide an unbiased and honest assessment and offer insights for potential enhancements within the dining establishment for not only myself but for my friends, colleagues and neighbors as well!"

"Good food. Halal food. Spacious dine in space, neat and clean. Spicy wings, Tex's Hell is not that spicy."

"We've been to the other location, decided to try lunch at this location. As it's new, appearance was clean. Counter person was friendly. I got the 2 piece chicken combo, my husband got the chicken sandwich. Fried chicken was excellent. Nice size pieces and perfect, crispy breading, not greasy. The biscuit could use more butter flavor, a bit on the dry side. Fries were average, maybe could have been cooked a minute more. My husband enjoyed his sandwich very much. Would have liked it more with a slice of cheese. He agreed with my opinion on the fries. We will definitely return."

"Went here late after a hockey on a Tuesday night. Happy to see they are open late. The food was good, service was on point, and this place was spotless. I only leave good reviews of all three of those things are good. Deff coming back. I had a burger, chicken sandwich, and chicken tenders. The burger believe it or not was the best thing out of the three I ordered. Will be telling my friends in the neighborhood that this is a good fried chicken spot."
