"We were looking for a late breakfast/brunch and decided to check this diner out. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly (eggs, pancakes, reuben, omelet). The coffee was hot and flavorful. We found the waitresses and hosts to be excellent. We would definitely return next time we're in the area."
"The food here was beyond excellent for a diner as was the service. If we ever drive from Canada to NYC again, we will definitely stop in here for lunch. Highly recommended for anyone who needs some food while driving down the interstate. Quick, friendly service and it is obvious why we saw so many locals there."
"Not thrilled with the change to coke products and the croutons with the French onion soup. The waitress was terrible. Incredibly unresponsive and seems to not understand how people drink coffee with cream and sugar generally. I am however grateful to have the red oak back. Always the best place for a grilled cheese and some french onion soup. 20 years running"
"We visited on a Monday morning, plenty of seating was available. The decor was a typical diner setting. Nothing new but it wasn't outdated either. The staff was friendly though possibly multitasking because the waitress had to let the hostess know there were groups waiting to be seated. My wife ordered lunch and they were very accommodating as it was only 10am. They didn't have all the lunch options available but could put together the entree. I ordered the biscuits and gravy alongside a short stack of pancakes. The biscuits were good though due to their thickness slightly dry but the sausage gravy more than made up for it. I believe the gravy was completely homemade. We tasted a hint of mushroom soup as the base possibly(?) which actually tastes really good. No additional seasoning was needed. The homefries were decent, slightly undercooked but seasoned correctly. The coffee seemed rather bland, I'm not sure how. I would think either a brand issue or possibly too low of coffee ground to water ratio. Even with the slight food issues I'd definitely return as the price was very reasonable for the quality."
"The booths and tables are all updated in the dining room. Otherwise, the decor is the same. Great ramp for wheelchair access. The menu was reasonably priced, I ordered a salad with chicken, which tasted great about $12. Quick service. There is plenty of seating. I'm glad to see this Binghamton restaurant icon back in business!"
