"The experience my girlfriend and I had while touring and eventually moving into our apartment at the Penn Garrison was easy and enjoyable. Our leasing consultant was extremely helpful. She went above and beyond in order to make sure our move-in process was successful. We greatly appreciate her (and the rest of the staff's) attentiveness to detail, and their quick responses to our questions and requests."
"One of the best PMC Properties for dogs located in Downtown! PMC has a number of properties around town that have different pros and cons related to pet ownership, but the Penn Garrison is one of best for dog owners. The biggest reason is simply location and ease of getting your dog on a very nice walk. When we walk dogs (either in person or in a pack), we prefer not to have that many distractions so that the walk is as relaxing as possible. If you live at the Penn Garrison, you can quickly exit the building, make a left, then the first left down the alley and within 2 minutes be at the end of the street to a nice grassy spot or the "dog park" at 9th and Fort Duquesne Blvd. You can then walk under the David Lawrence Convention Center (DLCC) to cut over to the River Trail and enjoy that perfect walk away from the busy-ness of downtown during certain parts of the day of the week. Another little ninja trick: when it rains just do walking loops under the DLCC so that your dog can still get exercised but both of you stay dry! The staff at PG is awesome and super nice. They all own super cool pups and love meeting friendly dogs and their owners. Only think that can be annoying is farther up Penn Ave on H, F, Sat nights in the evening time. The bars fill up and the outside seating makes it seem like you are walking a catwalk in a fashion show with your dog and every person wants to stop you to pet your dog. Stay safe and just avoid if you don't like overly-friendly partygoers. This building is also great for cats. Highly recommend building and location for dog owners."
"When I lived here a few years back, I had an absolutely wonderful experience! The landlord was always nice to me and any problems were always taken care of. This building is right in the middle of the Cultural District, so there's always something to do! Easy to get around without owning a car as well. Can't really complain about anything during my time living there."
"NEVER rent from PMC Property Group! Before you consider moving here, do a search for reviews on PMC Property Group in Philadelphia. You'll see most of them are pretty terrible concerning property maintenance and management. Now these people are moving into Pittsburgh and pulling the same act. Do yourself a favor a find a different property. The apartment is new, so it's nice, but living in downtown Pittsburgh is seriously the worst compared to your other options. I had a friend who was living in Pitt and warned me against living down there, but I didn't listen because the apartment was nice and cheap considering what a similar place would cost you in most cities. In retrospect, I really wish I had listened. Definitely check out Southside, Lawrenceville, Squirrel Hill, the North Shore or Shadyside, all better options than Downtown. Plus, when it comes time to move out, they will definitely try to screw you over any way they can. The Worst."
"This is posted anonymously because I still live in this apartment waiting for my prison term to end (lease to expire). First off they will tell you this is "luxury" apartments and tout all of the amenities but unfortunately that is just a line! Luxury brings connotation that there is an ease of living, a quality of life, a community in the building that the premium rent they charge here is worth it. The problems arise in that there is NO community here, They will show you the rooftop deck but really it's not a well kept area and is falling into disrepair. Not to include the constructions noises that start at SEVEN in the morning and don't stop till 9 at night. Now onto the actual issues here! The management! They are so focused on getting people signed to new leases they don't care about you once you're signed! Be prepared that once signed and moved in you're a forgotten person. If you have an issue with your apartment then good luck getting help to fix the problems. You have to threaten the office to get help. Some of the more serious issues are a plugged toilet that they wouldn't fix because it wasn't a weekday. Broken clothes washer and dryer being forced to use the onsite facilities paying more money just for clean clothes. Broken heater for the apartments during the polar freeze and subzero temps this winter of 2014. Nothing like waking up with an apartment in the low 50's and a heater that doesn't work. To put the cherry on top of the sundae the manager of the property constantly shifts blame to everyone and everything instead of trying to address the issues, find a solution and once in awhile maybe apologize!"
