"0 stars. I have requested maintanence on a broken microwave 3 times. 3 times a tech was sent and I was told the microwave was going to be replaced. This occurred over a 2 year period, still no replacement. Rentwell has sent multiple contractors to do work on the apt while I am living here. I have never been contacted by Rentwell regarding these contractors. Literally just had folks show up at my door with tools and supplies stating they needed to work on the apt. Rentwell allowed a contractor to store 2 pallets of materials in the middle of our driveway for 6 months, only later removing the materials having never used them at on our property. These people are criminals. Beware!"

"In my opinion, they deserve 0 stars and I would not go thru this company again. I was interested in an apartment, and scheduled a tour online - it was a self guided tour and no one from rentwell’s main office would return my phone calls about my questions about the unit. I had left multiple messages and no one bothered to get back to me. I toured it, liked the apartment- and decided despite the red flags I would apply due to the great price. Jessica was the representative assigned to me for this unit, and she was friendly but very unresponsive and hard to reach at times in my opinion. I felt like a burden to her for the questions I was asking, even though they were pretty basic questions and I had no way to get any other info about the unit. I would try to call, and she would rarely pick up or she would just text me instead, but i wanted to speak over the phone. In between touring the apartment, the application, and receiving the lease I never met anyone in person (or was given the opportunity to). When I applied and got approved, I was told I needed to put the security deposit thru to hold my spot until they sent the lease. I stupidly did this, and when I received the lease it was full of red flags in my opinion in which I decided not to sign it. I let Jessica know, and she was very friendly about it and told me my security deposit would be refunded. 3 weeks passed, and I didn’t get the security deposit back. I reached back out to Jessica and she said their accounting dept was backed up. Despite my patience, I had to go thru my bank to get my deposit back. Update: after a month of waiting, rentwell finally sent me the check for the deposit in the mail. This took inexcusably long to get back."

"If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have rented several places in Pittsburgh and this company is the worst ran one of them all. Not only has our dishwasher been broken for over four months but when I put in a service request for this, they had refused to get us a new one. That it is not their job to replace the dishwasher. On top of that we have now had a service request in for a month and a half for black mold. Again, they have not fixed this problem yet. Don’t even try to get a hold of Dean Dinwell because he will not answer, and if he does, he is zero help. He can’t answer an email but can certainly cancel my dishwasher request several times."

"Overall I've had great experiences with Rentwell as manager of my apartment building! They are fair and reliable. If you need to discuss an issue you are having with a human, it is not difficult to get ahold of someone most of the time. Repair requests are prompt and they have a good system of communicating when they will happen. Actually, what led me to write this review is my landlord recently decided to try self-management and end their contract with Rentwell, and ever since that transition happened, things have been a disaster! So, YES, you want Rentwell as your property managers!"

"avoid avoid avoid. Rented a house that was straight up unsafe to live in. they didn't know the correct utilities. they avoided contact with me for about two weeks. charged me extra pet rent for a turtle that would be inside a terrarium. the lease for houses is written like a lease for apartments - they didn't even revise it for different property types. maintenance lead is amazing, great dude. but after having both storm doors break, and they just SET THEM ON THE BACK PORCH. they left all the previous owner's stuff in the basement/shed. the unsafe amount of mold - plumbing - and broken water heater. I would never rent from them again, and will actively advise friends and family to avoid this company. EDIT: I have added photos of the property to this review. Look at the photos of the basement. Mold everywhere. They did attempt to rectify, but only fixed the mold on the wall. Look at the boards for the basement ceiling/ first floor. Covered in mold. Rotting out. Because of the improperly installed french drains, the sump pump that is improperly installed, and the unsupported plumbing. Not to mention the property was just absolutely FULL of the previous owner's stuff. I agree that you guys agreed to let me off the lease. And I agree that you were willing to refund my rent. But that doesn't mean that this situation was acceptable by any means. It doesn't matter that the property is new to you. There things NEED to be known and resolved before renting out. I stand by my claims."
