"I cannot say enough good things about TMC! If I could give six stars, I would. I've had the privilege of birthing three children there within the last few years, and my experience each time has been absolutely wonderful! The midwives and nurses are all extremely knowledgeable, skilled, caring, and kind. It is clear that they care deeply about the work they do and the women and families they serve. My appointments never felt rushed, and the staff always took time to answer my questions thoroughly and kindly, without making me feel like any of my concerns were silly or strange. If I had questions later, I could call or message them and always got a prompt response. When laboring there, each time I felt extremely well supported, and the midwives and nurses gave me the attention I needed (so encouraging, helpful, and gentle!) while also giving me the space and time I needed to labor naturally. With their help, I was able to have three wonderful, natural, unmedicated births. If you're looking for a place to have a natural birth, I cannot recommend TMC enough! The facility itself is extremely clean and comfortable (you don't feel like you're in a regular doctor's office, which is nice!). The birthing rooms feel like bedrooms, but with all the medical tools and resources you need for birthing (including tubs for laboring or for water births). They also offer lots of resources and classes for before and after birth, and their lactation consultants are fabulous. Thanks for the amazing work you do, staff of TMC!"
"I can't tell you how much I loved my delivery experience at the Midwife Center. Capable, empowering, encouraging women surrounding me while I gave birth. Never felt like I was just a number because each person takes the time (and has the time! Let's be honest, hospitals are just bigger and whether nurses would like to or not, there isn't the same ability to stop for the one) From all of my appointments to follow-up care, my experience was great! The facility is wonderful too - having a tub to labor in (and deliver in if you can/want to) was wonderful. I really loved the ethos of the center and felt completely at peace through the journey of giving birth."
"My experience at The Midwife Center truly changed my outlook on healthcare and has set the standard for what services and treatment women deserve. The Midwife Center offers pain management and plenty of support for the IUD process - services that I never knew were even an option. I'll be happily returning for annual visits and any other services I might need in the future."
"I wanted to love this place and the people. The total opposite happened. It was my first child so I was very nervous and very excited. My first appointment, my midwife showed up late and in her socks and was checking the clock constantly while I would be speaking to her. The second appointment was okay.. more normal. And my third the lady was super rude to me and by this point I had enough (I will not disclose names). I decided the peaceful water birth I so desperately wanted to have was out the window. I moved to Magee Midwives’s where I was treated with respect and care. Glad I switched when I did."
"Coming as someone who didn't start care with the midwife center until after 20 weeks pregnant, I 100% felt the 180 flip in my care during pregnancy. I was recently told, and I think this applies to the midwife center: it's one thing to have a doctor to let you make your own choices, it's another to have a medical staff who is a resource to you in your choices. My dream was always to have a natural birth and the OBGYN said they were going to allow that to happen, but once I switched to the midwife center, I felt I was leaving appointments with more information on best practices of birthing naturally. The office is very well decorated, inviting and homey. The staff was very friendly, respectful, and informative. I really appreciated all the classes and additional support offered both before and after birth! I am so grateful to all the staff who assisted myself and family during labor. It was the most peaceful, joyful, empowering experience of my life and that says alot in today's society! I felt I had very competent caring people surrounding me, helping me to make choices throughout the process. The part I struggled with most postpartum as a first time mom was breastfeeding and I was so grateful for the lactation calls and appointment! Hormones may have played a role :P, but I cried tears of joy for how grateful I was for the midwife centers care for me. I can't say I have another birthing experience of my own to compare it to, but I know I plan to have my next birth with the midwives again."
