"I saw Dr. Jewell today for what turned out to be a torn bicep muscle. Thought originally that it might have been pulled but decided to have it checked because of swelling on my arm. Learned that it’s called a “Popeye deformation” when the muscle tears and bunches up. He said that at this point it’s more cosmetic and that surgery is not normally done, coupled with the fact that I have no pain and totally mobility of my arm. Dr. Jewell did a complete exam of my shoulder for any rotator cuff injury of which there was none. Ten years ago Dr. Jewell repaired my torn left rotator cuff and it’s been fine since. That experience & one 5 years ago for a torn knee issue is why I returned to Tri State Orthopedics and Dr. Jewell. I feel that the Doctors, staff and the Physical Therapists for after the surgery are the best in the Pittsburgh area and recommend them highly. Everyone is nice, friendly and helpful too."
