Octapharma Plasma is here to guide you through every step of the donation process. With a vast network of centers across the country, finding a convenient location is easy. The Columbus center provides competitive compensation for all donors, ensuring that your time and contribution are valued.
To learn more about the donation process, you can visit the donor experience page on their website, where you can also schedule an appointment if available. Walk-ins are always welcome, providing flexibility for your busy schedule. First-time donors need to bring a valid photo ID (you must be at least 18 years old), a Social Security Card, and proof of current address (such as a piece of mail postmarked within the last 30 days, or a current lease). Active military personnel should provide the address where they receive mail and their physical address.
The Columbus center offers amenities like free WiFi and HD televisions to keep you entertained during your donation. Feel free to bring books, tablets, magazines, and music players or smartphones (with headphones). However, for the privacy and respect of all donors, phone calls and photographs are not permitted within the center.
Expect your first visit to take between 1-2 hours, as it includes a thorough donor suitability screening involving a video, medical history review, and an extensive health questionnaire. Subsequent visits will generally take less time, and it's advisable to call ahead to find out the best times to donate.
Upon arrival, a staff member will greet you, check your documents, and guide you through watching an educational video, a free health screening, and a medical questionnaire. Once deemed suitable, you can proceed with the donation. You will be compensated for your plasma donation, and you can return for another donation after 48 hours.
Octapharma Plasma adheres to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's guidelines, allowing two donations within a seven-day period with at least 48 hours in between. Your body typically replaces the donated plasma within 24 to 48 hours. Therefore, staying well-hydrated and eating protein-rich and iron-rich meals before donating is essential.
For first-time donors, it's crucial to return for a second visit within 2 to 14 days after your first donation to ensure your plasma sample is safe for use in life-saving medicines. Compensation is provided for both the first and subsequent donations.
For Spanish-speaking donors, Octapharma Plasma centers accept Spanish-speaking donors, and you can confirm this by contacting your local center through the provided link.
Octapharma Plasma also offers a mobile app to make your donation experience seamless and efficient. With the OctaPass, you can fill out forms online, check your upcoming payment levels, and earn points for tiered rewards, including Express Passes and e-gift cards.

"Best plasma center I've been to in quite some time. The staff was very kind, attentive, informative, and I'm not sure what the woman's name was that we met when we came in but her energy was infectious. Also, quietest machines I've ever seen. The other 3 plasma centers I've tried in the past all had such loud and scary sounding machines. Overall it was a great experience. Edit to add update: I've now donated here 3 times and somehow the first time was faster than either other time. I don't understand why there's 6 screening booths but y'all only have one person to screen a whole line of people. Either hire more staff or stop taking new donors. Not everyone has all day to wait every single time they come. Plus y'all have people skipping the line with the octapass but I was told you have to stand in line with everyone else and can only get in the other line if you have an express pass which apparently the octapass doesnt count as which in itself is stupid cause what's the point in giving people the option to do the questions on the app just to have us come in and wait just as long. Y'all can do better. Seriously."
"The people are so friendly and treat me like they are my family that I've known my whole life. I never had any issues with being stuck with the needles. Everyone who has stuck me left me with no pain or discomfort. I will go nowhere else. They need more good employees here soooooo if you are professional then put in a application."
"I had an appointment, but was told there would be a 2-hour wait to watch an introductory video before the health screening & plasma donation would even begin. It appeared that walk-ins were being taken ahead of people with appointments. Why bother having people make appointments if you're going to ignore them. Only 1 video machine available & only 1 person at the front desk with several people waiting. Poor customer service. I left without donating because I wasn't going to spend upwards of 4 hours at the facility. Will never return."
"I'll start off with the good. The staff here are excellent. Super friendly and they seem like they really care about the patients. The bad. This facility is so terribly under staffed it's crazy. The wait times are out of control. It is inconsistent. When you come in there never have more than one person screening at a time but there are 6 screening booths. If the line is long at all it takes over an hour just to get vitals. Then you're waiting at least another hour just to get a bed. They're so under staffed that they only seat people in 1/3 of the beds available. To be clear it is NOT like this at other plasma centers. This is not a staff issue from what I'm learning from them. I've spoken to a manager and they are apparently in a "hiring freeze" I don't possibly see how there are less than 10 regular staff here in total that deal with the patients and are overworked because they need people. Octopharma y'all need to do better"
