"I’m on my way home from my August 1-2 day surgery & stay at Montefiore. The Doctors & Nurses ALL did their jobs SO well with kindness, respect and patience. They were all so helpful and thorough and made sure to ask if I needed anything every time. For having to do something that you wish you didn’t have to, they helped us to get through it so much better! THANK YOU!"
"I am writing this review late but has pryed on my mind for a lot of years. This hospital so horrible I would not take my dog there. We left Henry Ford Hospital for UPMC Montefiore because it was rate good for my dad's cancer BILE DUCT CANCER instead of telling him that his cancer had progressed and spread to his liver or even give chemo/radiation. They resected his liver at cost of over $100,000 for money. The nurses were rude and doctors especially Dr. James Marsh tells my dad when my mom was staying there your going to die . What a sick evil physicians and your there to preserve life. Obviously not the line of patient care he should not even practice medicine. A medical professional telling mom he was going to die. Who needs this when we are trying to save my dad. We brought him there for better care and received unprofessional, incentive and lack of empathy while a patient at UPMC Montefore. All I can say is that the hospital from all the current reviews that are 3 or less has not change since my father's visit back in 2009"
"Transplant patient here; I’m in need of a biopsy which is done on their short stay unit 7 west, in years prior a biopsy was easy to schedule and I was able to get in within two days. I let my team know of 4 separate days I had availability none of which they could accommodate. When I asked why they were unable to schedule me when in the past (I’ve had more than 4 biopsies here) there was no issue getting in for a biopsy it was confirmed that they are short staffed and only able to do one biopsy per day (in the past I have seen 4 or more people per day getting biopsies with me). I asked what the nurse patient ratio would be because I have concerns about the care I will receive but that question was not answered. I can only assume that because UPMC is the lowest paying healthcare system in Pittsburgh that nurses are refusing to accept these pitiful wages and now the patients are suffering. I’ll seriously be considering transferring my transplant care to AGH."
"Words cannot express the quality of service at UPMC Montefiore. My mother was hospitalized after surgery on 4-1-24. I was at the hospital on 4-4-24 on the 10th floor room N1063. Upon arrival we were greeted by Susie at the front desk, she was pleasant and even offered us coffee. When we entered the room, Tracey (Nursing Student) was changing out her bed. Her level of attentiveness and empathy was top notch . I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service. Lucy was also amazing and very attentive. Coming from California, I would have to say UPMC is the best with regard to customer service. I highly recommend UPMC Montefiore for any type of service , truly amazing."
