Emergency - Ascension St. Francis Hospital

"I had multiple tests to figure out what was making me feel "just not right" . I could go into more detail but I won't. It would take too long. Ultimately, they didn't find anything. The care was good. The care from nurse Dave was awesome. I did have the, what is probably normal, long waits between test results. I finally had to press to get released from care, until I saw a doctor that released me. A higher rating if they figured out what was bothering me."

"What is happening you guys use to be my number one hospital and know you are not . How can you let a lot off people waiting innthe waiting room for ahours and not take any pationg to the back to get seen in hours . My parter sat their suffuring from his wisth tooth and end not getting since since we where their for 3 hours about to be 4 . Went to wast time and he left in bad pain. Never again will step foot at your hospital."

"Very professional staff, even after midnight when everyone’s tired!! I stayed overnight due to an emergency and I was listened to by all the staff and was given very appropriate and worry-less answers to my heat-in-the-moment questions. Very understanding of my pain levels and they explained everything they were doing. CT scans, ultrasound, and radiology results came in relatively quickly, even though there were quite a few people in the ER when I was there. Even when the doctors switched shifts, I felt like there was no overlap and seamless transition in service. Overall would recommend this ER."

"After suffering with tooth and face pain along with facial swelling over the weekend. I was trying to seek emergency services for pain, swelling and possible tooth abscess/infection. The clinic I was trying to get to was closed, the hospital was near. I entered the hospital and ask for help. I was well greeted by staff and quickly taken in to see a doctor. The doctor looked at my face and teeth and determined that I didn't have an abscess or other reason for tests. He gave me meds he said was for the pain and suggested I make an appointment with the dentist. The entire process took about 15 minutes, start to finish. By the time I made it home, I felt a gush in my mouth and a mixture of blood and pus poured from the swollen, obviously abscessed tissue in my mouth and face. For the rest of the day and last night, I worked to keep the drainage cleared. I have an appointment later today to hopefully get the help I need. Everyone was friendly, but my concerns weren't considered and I did not receive the emergency assistance that I desperately needed."

"This visit got me to switch out of Aurora and to Froedtert. Best decision I, or I recommend you, make. Their cost-cutting is evident everywhere. Removal of clocks from ER rooms, lack of equipment, call buttons that don't work (not just in my room, but others as I wasn't the only person to be heard calling out repeatedly for a nurse), pharmacy that closed at 8p so I couldn't get prescriptions filled before I was discharged, severe staff shortages, etc. They eliminated their pediatric ward because it wasn't making them enough money?? Screw for-profit healthcare but especially screw anything having to do with the Aurora healthcare system."
