"They have a small aluminum trailer I wanted to buy. They said it was brand new and $1250. I said it's definitely not brand new the logos are faded, the wood deck needs to be replaced as it was weathered and warping, and the tires are old and cracked with flat spots from years in the same place. They said it's a 2016 but it's still new... Even though it's sat in the Montana snow, rain, and sun for 5 years full price. I really wanted it for my raft, so I asked if they would repair the deck and put new tires on for the $1250 or maybe knock it down to $1k as is if I paid cash. I had 1k in an envelope in my hand. I was told no deal. It's a new trailer, and it's being sold as is at the new price, because it's new. He then said there's no damage, and trailers sit outside so they get weathered... Which is true but then they get sold as used not new, because 5 years in the elements is not brand new... That was in June 2021. The trailer is still there at the dealership... I get a big smile every time I drive by with my actually new trailer I bought elsewhere. Be careful what they consider "new.""
