"While Dr. Alonzo is extremely professional and one of the most compassionate therapists available, he does have some faults. It is difficult to contact him and he wants to meet with you as infrequently as possible - despite the current therapeutic issues. Don't ask for extra sessions. If you need someone to validate you and really connect, there can be no one better. But, if you have something more "involved" or a psychological condition which requires more than short-term therapy, Dr. Alonzo may not be ideal. He is busy with many other things, and it may prevent him from being able to work with you through the long haul. Nonetheless, I highly recommend a consultation with the Dr., because every person is unique, and he may be the best person for you. *Update: Since I first started seeing Dr. Alonzo, the price has dramatically increased! Originally he accepted insurance & I paid the remaining $44 (1/2). Then he stopped accepting insurance and I had to pay $88, then $100, then.... It keeps creeping up until now I have been charged over $160+! Granted, he is the only therapist I will see because I don't want to have to start all over again; however, I have to budget for a while between visits. I wish he did a sliding scale."
