Reviews
"I wrote an accurate but maybe not clear enough review about this place the other day and got a long winded response from them. I may have come off rude, but when someone offers 50 less than spot for a 1/4 Ounce premium 9999 fine gold coin because they have too many, I don't believe that's a valid argument in a market where fractional gold is selling like hot cakes. Fractional gold demands a very hefty premium above spot. This premium is the price consumers pay the bullion dealers so they can make money and be successful. I don't know how Tulsa Gold and Gems is run behind the glass, but if 38 fractional gold coins is so hard for them to move I would put that responsibility on the business management. You can sell on eBay, and even have an online storefront. Reduce the overhead of commercials. Worst case scenario you hold them a little longer than you would like, but in that case we all know what gold does over time. This industry is full of snakes and sharks. Sometimes I agree the market can be rough and a bullion dealer may not be able to offer above or at spot all the time, I don't see that in the market for gold right now, especially for gov mint pure coins. I say that because historically when Gold hits all time highs like this it gets a lot of publicity. People that were not buying gold start to take notice and want to buy. Many start with fractional gold. Anyone who reads this please just call around, get a second, maybe a third opinion. See what your item is selling for on eBay, look at the eBay prices conservatively people are not going to pay the highest price they find on eBay they will pay the lowest price they can find on eBay from a reputable dealer. So that's what I would look for. Once you find the lowest price for your coin sold by a reputable dealer realize that if your selling to a dealer they need to be able to make a profit selling the item at that price or close to it. Profit margins on bullion are not enormous outside of collectible stuff, but the bullion business is there to make a profit. In general neither consumers or dealers can pay less than spot price on a regular basis for investment grade bullion, dealers do get wholesale pricing and ride that line much more than consumers but they get too comfortable there sometimes... understandably. With these things in mind make the right decision for you. I support bullion businesses and don't mind selling to them at a price where they can make a profit but in my experience Tulsa Gold and Gems always pays less than spot, and has lots of experience justifying that to the customers who are losing money in those transactions with them. They will always come up with a reason for not paying a fair price and it's easy to do. I want this industry to be the safe haven it should be in this troubling economy. I hope I am wrong about Tulsa Gold and Gems and my timing has just been bad every time I've checked with them. But for now I would say there are many better places to go both in tulsa, and online. Tulsa gold and gems I've changed my original review and I will check with you in the future. If I see that I was hastey in my judgment and you are not looking for any reason you can find to pay the lowest price you can but are just offering what you think is fair while making a profit I'll delete this and write a good review. I hope for that outcome."
