"Do not do business with this company. I had this Mr Comfort out last year (4-10-23) to replace an outdoor water spigot. I was happy to pay for the part/labor and while they did replace the part itself, it is now leaking from the wheel, an issue I did not have prior. When I called and asked them to come out to double-check their work and correct the potentially faulty installation of the new part, they wanted to charge me $100+ dollars for an additional service fee. I’ve now paid $414 just to have a different issue then my original. Again, I’ve called to get this resolved and have been dismissed unless I pay an additional service fee for coming out to correct their poor instal."
"Utterly speechless. I had a plumbing leak while I was away on vacation. Main got shut off by the city while I was gone, at my request. Got Mr Comfort onsite ASAP after my return. Nathaniel looked under my house the first day and only found 2 small leaks - proposed $800 worth of labor and parts to fix. He informed he’d be back the next day, first thing, to install. When no one showed by 10, I called and spoke with Jim, who indicated I was on the schedule for the following day - I insisted that someone be onsite, as they left the main open since leaks were “minor”. When Nathaniel came back out, he found a hole in a pipe (spigot). He perused my crawl space and indicated many holes were found, only showing me a couple photos. Ultimately, I got an estimate for an 11k repipe of my whole home. I crawled under my house to review pipes before and after Nathaniel arrived, and the only hole I could find was the spigot. Having significant doubt, I bought a replacement spigot and adaptor (~50), installed that. Had a second plumber come out to turn the main on and test for leaks - they found that *someone* had left the spigot on the W side of my home wide open. Also identified that the mudroom toilet was running. After shutting off both valves, miraculously, the leak was sorted. To say I’m frustrated with Mr Comfort is an understatement. I’m out time and money, and had significant stress/anxiety that was *mostly* unnecessary. Feels like I was being gouged because I’d mentioned “A prior plumber recommended a whole home attic repipe due to the age of my pipes.” Exercise caution when working with them, please."
"I called and explained that my bathtub facet was leaking and I wanted a whole new set for the bathtub. They came out and said they couldn’t do it and that maybe they understood me wrong over the phone, they made it stop leaking a little bit and charged me $120. Very disappointed when a plumber leaves and I have to call another one different company to come back. I was fine paying $120 to have it fixed but just to make it stop leaking? I would have just called a company that could replace it instead of calling this one."
"I do not enjoy writing a poor review, but it is imperative that it be done. I have had a leak in my front yard for months. It was a very small leak. Due to a recent surgery, I was unable to investigate it as I normally would. However, I decided to do some digging near the meter, hoping to find the leak. I did. I vacuumed the water out of the hole. I saw a sprinkler valve and saw the leak. I did all this to make the job easier for the plumber and to save time and money. I WAS WRONG. The plumber was on his way, and didn't want to cancel. All that was left to do was to place a 3 dollar pvc cap on the end of the pipe. That was it. Picture included. That was what the plumber saw driving up. A pipe needing a cap. That was it. Ezra did a great job of checking the fix. He had a metal gas cap to place on the pipe to see it was what i thought was leaking. It was fixed in 15 mins. He wanted a PVC fitting to cap the pipe, so he left to find the part. I was so happy. I knew he was going to charge $100 just to come out, but I thought to place a $3 cap on the pipe it couldn't be much. Considering I did ALL the work, beside placing the cap on the pipe. He was kind enough to fill the hole, since I was unable today. It gets fixed and the bill was over $600.00!!!!! Am I missing something? In my 65 years of life, I have NEVER seen such a disparity in the amount of work performed and the fee billed. It was such a surprise when I was expected to pay it. A $3 part and 10 mins work. If the part had been in his truck, that would had been all of it. He left to find the part, and when returning placed the cap on. There was a struggle for 30 mins to screw the cap on, however it was done. Fortunately, there was a compromise made, but it is the principle. I wanted to write a good review and tell my friends about the great service and fee charged. My BIG mistake was not reading the prior reviews. I always do. I work with Drabek and Hill for other issues and they are wonderful. I wanted some plumbing done and went with their company. I wish I had researched it first. Bottom Line: Read reviews Get a written estimate I did neither. My mistake was not realizing that something could be so overly charged after I performed all the prep work ahead of time and thought I was helping the plumber and myself. A sad situation that should of never happened. If I was unreasonable, please let me know. Ezra did a great job, but the fees charged were totally unreasonable! l"
"My wife and I just had a slab leak under our living room repaired by Mr. Comfort, Inc. The person sent to pinpoint the leak got it exactly right. The plumbers sent out were clean, professional, and very cordial. It took them a lot less time to dig, repair the pipe, and fill in the hole than either my wife or I were expecting. We've never had a problem like this before, so I'm no judge as to how Mr. Comfort's prices compare to other plumbing companies. My wife and I are thoroughly impressed with the quality and the professionalism of the company."
