City Gardens Apartments

"I sat outside the office for hours during business hours to speak to a leasing agent. They rarely answer the phone or call back voicemails. One of the agents has an attitude so terrible it made me afraid to call. I think they keep her on to scare off potential rentals. Finally submitted an application after weeks trying to get someone in the office and was told after I gave them my money that I wasn't accepted because I'm in college and 'college students take advantage of their low price rental program.' Which makes absolutely no sense. Listen to the bad comments. The low rental prices aren't worth the headache."

"Managing is terrible, due to the pandemic companies are hiring any and everyone. CBRB needs to do better. The management staff treats the tenants like trash. They need cameras in the laundry room theft is at an all time high, the assistant hangs out at the laundromat instead of answering the phones the maintenance man is her family member who is uneducated and should not be on the property. I would not recommend this property to anyone. They need to rehire a whole new staff."

"Front office has no communication. I waited weeks to hear when I move in, I took a tour of the apartment and had all my paperwork done and gave my deposit then there was no communcation after. I left several voicemails and after 4 months they finally called me to return my deposit. I seriously thought I was scammed. Apparently I am not the only one this has happened to, as other students I know had similar issues. If communication is this bad now, I cant imagine how bad it is for anyone living there. Something is not right with this place."

"Even after the change in management and addition of security we had our car broken into and license plates stolen. They are right by the freeway so you get not only the constant sounds of traffic and trucks, but also the train tracks that go through that particular stretch of highway. When we moved in there was a part of our window missing, that’s right, part of the glass. It was sized wrong and no one thought to fix it? Maintenance will fix things but they get so many requests that it always takes them a while to get to you. Our apartment smelled terrible and nothing got the smell out. The on site laundry facilities mostly ate our money and ruined our clothes. The office management were rude and unhelpful. The ONE nice thing is that they are cheap. So, you almost get what you’re paying for. But not quite. Very disappointed and told all our friends to never ever move to City Gardens. We were only there for a year and it was a year too long. *edit* We did let management know about our car being broken into and license plate being stolen and they very much had a “not our problem,” attitude. We let them know about all of these complaints and every time they had an attitude that varied from apathy to annoyance. Except for the window. They were surprised but did fix it quickly. That was the old management."

"I absolutely LOVE living in the City Gardens Apartment community. The property is centrally located in mid-town and has easy access to shopping, entertainment, medical, auto, and pretty much any type of business you may need - including a good smoothie and some yoga! The staff, Lori and Gene, are phenomenal. They are always ready and available to assist with any needs I have from my rent, to my maintenance, to recently locking myself out of my own home......Safety if a BIG concern of mine with a young daughter and security patrols the site all night after business hours, is friendly, and helpful as needed. There is a dog park, a clean laundry unit with reasonable pricing, community yard sales, monthly newsletter, and so much more! If you are looking for a safe, affordable, place to live with nice neighbors and caring staff, City Gardens is the place for you!"
