"Friendly people, great prices and a huge variety"
"Went to an auction that was run by Swick's today in Claremore. I am not new to the auction game and I know my way around. I was very disappointed when I observed one (and maybe even two) of the employees that were helping run the auction actually also bidding on items. There was one item that I was interested in and they told everyone to "look at the stuff before they began bidding". I was the ONLY person that walked over and looked in at the items. Oddly enough, I bid first, no one else bid, then this employee bid! Mind you, he was lining up the next item for sale WHILE he was bidding. The price quickly started going up and before it even got high at all, I saw the writing on the wall and dropped out of the bidding. NO ONE else bid on this item and the 'employee' from the auction house "won" the bidding. Huge conflict of interest if you ask me and leads newcomers (to Swick's) like myself to believe their employees are driving up bids. Sad business practice. And yes, I know it happens often, but not in such a blatant manner. Sorry Swick's you lost a future customer."
"Some good, some not. Staff friendly, prices generally good, nice variety, auctioneer seemed honest and a cash drawing at the end. However, they assess not only taxes (as usual) but also an additional charge (5% cash, 10% credit card) to your purchase total, including any food, for reasons unknown to me. So, for example, if you spend $90 on auction items and an additional $10 on food (using your bid #), the total is $100, If using a credit card to pay, the total becomes $110 before taxes. The other bad things were that the concession stand menu was sparse, with cheap food, and check-out took forever. I had great difficulty finding someone to help me obtain the few things I bought. Overall, I am not likely to return."
"Great deals and a great selection of items. I have made many purchases from Swick’s Auction over several years and will certainly make many more. The Owner, his wife, and their entire staff are friendly and fun to deal with. Most of all they are all HONEST and truly care about their customers..."
"This place has a little bit of everything. They have everything from your normal nick-nacks, hand made furniture, hand made metal art, used electronics, and a full service computer repair shop that is open 7 days a week. The new Jay's BBQ is pretty good. Great place to spend a little time and find almost everything you need at a good price."
