"My three year old son and I had a great experience here! The receptionist, hygienist, and dentist all loved on him and made him feel proud of himself. They were very experienced and knowledgeable, and their service was great, efficient, and thorough. He loved his prizes, as well!"
"The staff at Smiling Faces has completely changed my sons perspective on dental visits. Prior to Smiling Faces we were going to Adventure Dental, and let’s just say that the experience there was extremely traumatizing for him. During his appointment at Smiling Faces today he made a comment stating he loved it there and wanted to come back. It was a completely different and pleasant experience for him."
"Going to be a big no for us. This should be considered malpractice. How did my 4 year old who religiously brushes, fluoride rinses and flosses go from 2 to 6 cavities in 4 weeks??? No way a four year old should go under with anesthesia for a cavity. We have good federal insurance and I was quoted 2700 for 6 silver crowns. That’s not including the out patient hospital fees. Money scam!! Pass! Cute office though."
"I don’t think the staff I’ve come into contact with are that great with kids, honestly. They’re always unfriendly and short. They don’t take the time to make the child comfortable and just lack the basic rapport you’d expect at a pediatric dentist. I was referred here for my child’s surgery so the relationship is generally involuntarily. Sherry, the receptionist, is always great. Love her."
"Lengthy review but I hope it is helpful for anyone considering this location. Our experience today was overall great with one exception. When we arrived the front desk personal were very friendly and greeted us all warmly and spoke with the kids in a kind and attentive manner. The waiting room was bright and colorful with a small game area and a tv set up streaming kid friendly shows. The dental rooms are all also painted colorfully and were decorated for the season. They also have a reward system set up so that at the end of the visit they give the children a token to get something out of the prize vending machines. However, our first hygienist/tech personal was a very abrupt & abrasive woman. In my opinion she should not be working with young children. She increased their fears and made us all very uncomfortable. Her attitude with the my two girls (ages 3 & 7) was very gruff and dismissive. Her manner of speaking to me wasn't any better. She seemed frustrated to have to "deal" with us. We were all so very disturbed by her attitude that I stepped out and requested a different person to take over. (My 7 year old came to me after the appointment and told me that she felt the first lady spooked her and made it hard for her to feel good being there.) Thankfully Dr. Erin Heathcock was great with my girls as was the second technician that took over. They were both friendly, polite, patient and knew how to interact with the kids in a positive and constructive manner. They made them feel safe, listened to them, explained everything kindly to them, and worked with them through their fearful moments. I was very impressed with how they engaged with the girls. Had our encounter not included the first woman our visit would of been a great overall experience, and would of left a better impression on both the children and myself. I would strongly recommend that if you choose to try out this location and encounter someone who makes you or your children uncomfortable to just request someone else to take over. The rest of the people (employees) we engaged with were all very kind and had the type of personalities to interact with small children in a positive manner. I would rate this location at a 4 star because the overall care and consideration of the dental team was great. They seemed very knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions and discuss options for care with us. If our first hygienist/technician had not been so unkind I would of highly recommend this dental office. However, as dental visits are already a bit of a difficult thing for many children and adults to go through having anyone on the dental team make you or your children feel more uncomfortable or afraid reduces the overall experience and heightens fears lowering the reputation and reliability of the dental facility in question."
