Reviews
"Kirk is a nice guy; as a therapist he’s not great, at least for me. He spoke about himself and his history more than anything else by a long shot and it was only hit or miss if the stories had anything to do with my needs. So, I quit going and won’t be back."
"I've worked with Dr. Thorn for almost a year now. He has really helped me greatly in working through my PTSD symptoms from an industrial accident that occurred a few years ago. Dr. Thorn really knows his stuff, is patient, and is willing to work with anybody. If anybody says contrary, then they really haven't met him before or are simply unwilling to do what he suggests in order to heal. Therapy isn't easy, but he works with you through the hard stuff regardless. I've had rough weeks, but he has helped me dramatically improve from how I was before I started seeing him. He's incredibly good at what he does and has a lot of experience with a wide variety of topics. I'd highly recommend talking to him if you can!"
"He yelled at me until I left his office, chased me out the lobby and down the hallway, and when I turned back to say something to him, physically pushed me out of the doorway and shoved the door closed on my foot. He also told me that he was "a (expletive) good psychologist" and his door was always open if I wanted to come back for more help."
"Dr. Thorn is a great doctor! I have seen him work with many people. Are there some clients that move on to other doctors? Yes. Can any one doctor help be the right fit for everyone? No. Kirk has a lot of experience and he has a great personality. He doesn't sit there and listen to you cry about your problems. He wants to know what's going on and then he wants to help fix it. If you really want to change or figure something out, be open to his suggestions, do what he asks and you will see results!"
"Didn't really like how his therapy worked. He'd generally recommend books for me to read to help out with my depression and anxiety, then send me off to go find it and return once again to talk about what I read. No tactics whatsoever to try and fight my condition, apparently they would all come from him after I read the book. So, you be the judge. Perhaps the book alone would help you, but why go through the trouble of reading it when you're paying a counselor to help you with just that?"
