"Had my lips done today with Maria, both liner and fill-in. Maria is both personable and skilled. Unlike the other place l'd gone she does everything by hand which takes longer on her part but speaks to her attention and patience to detail. I feel like I got a sharper and finer lip lining with this method than with a machine, which takes much more effort on her part. This combined with her easy kindness and again and again checking with me as to whether I was happy with where it was at; I recommend this person very highly. She has been doing this work for many years so I felt like I was being worked on by an experienced and knowledgeable practitioner."
"Found this place by happenstance and am so so lucky I did. Maria is a marvel. Exquisite and intricate and exacting work. She does most of it by hand rather than by machine ensuring her accuracy one tap at a time. I've been to several practitioners in the past and this is by far the best person I've been... Maria truly listened to me and allowed me to be very perfectionistic... which isn't always the case .. again ensuring a really magnificent result. My highest recommendation. She has a very nice way about her as well. So a wonderful experience all the way around...."
"First and foremost I would like to say that Maria is a very kind person and was a joy to talk to. However for my situation, I do believe I should have gone to someone else to tattoo my eyebrows. The below is a description of my experience that led to my dissatisfaction. 1. Old equipment and products Immediately upon entry of the room within Maria's home where she does her procedures, I saw a cracked chair, broken and stained light and dusty coloring. Everything looked very old and dated which probably should have been my first indicator for what was to come. Also the book she used for deciding the color and shape of your eyebrows was dated and looked like it had come from the early 2000 2. I mapped out my own eyebrow shape The videos I had watched of people mapping out the eyebrow shape with a string and measuring tool set my expectations differently than what I experienced here. I had skin cancer which was removed and left a scar over my eyebrow. It was the reason for me getting eyebrows tattooed on myself and a very emotional decision for me to make. I have struggled to draw on my own eyebrows my entire life and was surprised that after Maria had a failed attempt at drawing one of my eyebrows, she asked me to draw them myself. I did, and she measured them with a tool claiming they looked good and we would go with that. I was hesitant knowing my skills were not that good but decided to trust a professional. 3. Not getting what I wanted I had asked for a microblade style as I wanted my eyebrows to look like I had actual hair. It was a bit of a big deal to me as I have never had hair on that eyebrow due to the cancer. After some back and forth and multiple mentions of backing out entirely (which i definitely should have done), Maria said that i shouldn't do a microblade look due to my scar tissue. She said we could but made it sound like I'd have to get it touched up every other month which defeated the purpose of the tattoo. So we decided to do the powdered look even though it wasn't the look I had hoped to have. 4. No gloves and bad numbing cream Seeing as how this was my first tattoo I didn't know what to expect in terms of pain level, but this hurt! After Maria washed her hands she started scratching on the ink. The numbing cream she used didn't do much in terms of dulling the pain and she didn't wear any gloves which seems extremely unhygienic. I'm lucky I didn't get any infection. 5. Old tattooing method I have recently gone to a different tattoo artist to get my eyebrows fixed and learned that the method Maria performs is considered an old practice, termed scratching. My new tattoo artist uses a tattoo gun and good numbing cream (where I didn't feel a single thing, even with the tattoo removal we did). 6. Price The pricing of the procedures didn't bother me, I knew going in it would be costly. However what did surprise me was that the touch up would still cost $75. From conversations with my friends, their touch ups were always free because they were included in the initial cost of the tattoo. This was later confirmed after I found a new person to fix my eyebrows. 7. The final product I've attached a picture of my eyebrows 4 weeks out from my procedure with Maria. I was in need of a touch up to help the blotchyness, but the unevenness and length differences is was stand out to me. As I said earlier I have gone to another person who did map out my eyebrows and did some tattoo removal to fix the shape and coloring. On my scar there is one area that took so much of the color that it looks like my cancer is back. My new artist is working to fix that. Overall, I was not satisfied with my experience and have now had to spend an additional $300 to get my eyebrows fixed. I wish I had done more research into Maria's work and would recommend to others that are thinking of going to her to make sure she is the best person to go to. My recommendation is to make sure your artist is using current methods and showcases their work on an Instagram or Facebook page so you can see their current finished products."
"I loved Maria and her work is beautiful! She is very talented and I am so pleased with her work on my eyeliner. She has so many other beauty procedures I can’t wait to try.... She has made a long time customer in me. Maria is simply the cutest!"
"Maria is a delight as well as incredibly talented with her skill! The environment is very welcoming and she guides you every step of the way in choosing shape, color etc. I was never rushed or pressured to do more than what I came in for, but I did feel that I was glad to hear about the other services that she offers! I left my appointment feeling very happy with my results and she offers so many services at such a great price that I can't wait to go back! Thanks Maria for a fun morning and doing such a great job!!!"
