"All the reviews about him being dismissive and condescending are spot on! Went in to check on my thyroid because an urgent care doctor said I may have a thyroid problem. He questioned why they thought that and second guessed me when I said my whole family has thyroid disease. Shockingly that was enough for him to finally put in an order for a blood draw after making me feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I also was in for back pain, headache, and nausea. He never looked up my records or asked about my past or present health. My back pain is apparently not problem and it’s probably just strained from sitting at a desk all day?? Even though I have had a pinch and pain for the past 2 months. So he gave me muscle relaxers?. My headaches are probably heat exhaustion from TWO WEEKS AGO?! And my nausea is a way of my body telling me it’s tired even though I’ve been getting more than enough sleep all weekend. Tomorrow will be day 5 of headaches and nausea. I was told by another person in the medical field to go get a second opinion and I will be more than happy to report back and edit this post with the correct diagnostic so hopefully this doctor learns to actually LISTEN to patients and DIAGNOSE them correctly. Don’t ever see this doctor. Save your time, money, and health."
"Dr. Ngatuvai has cared for our family for over a decade. Whether sports injuries, illnesses, or mental health concerns he has always taken time and care to listen, understand, and find the best possible solution. He takes a holistic approach and enjoys being with his patients. We appreciate his easy-going nature and how comfortable he always makes us feel!"
"If you are a woman or someone who struggles with mental health, this is NOT the doctor for you. Had a terrible experience here. After dealing with a major mental health crisis, the hospital I was treated at set this appointment up for me with the intention of having him be my primary care doctor. He hadn't bothered to look at any of my history, and when I was trying to explain what was going on he kept interrupting and talking over me. He was condescending and dismissive and told me that I don't have anxiety, I'm just a woman and we're just wired that way and that I need to stop relying on medication to "fix me". He has a poor bedside manner and does not listen."
"Dr. Ngatuvai is the best doctor I’ve ever had. I moved to Utah from California and had visited a couple of doctors within the last few years. I hadn’t felt comfortable designating one to be my primary care physician until visiting with him. He truly listens and addresses your concerns. He greets you with a smile and is very kind. I highly recommend him to all my family and friends. He’s provided excellent service for my wife and I."
"Dr. Ngatuvai is not a very nice man nor doctor. I went in about a year and a half ago with constant headaches. He dismissed my concerns and belittled any comments I had. He was not sympathetic nor did he care to listen to my problems. What's worse is that when I kept asking what other options I had to resolve my condition he finally got fed up and said that there were other options but that it would require money and that I didn't have any because I was on Medicaid. Very, very rude. At the time I was going through graduate school with 4 kids and needed government assistance to help provide a better future for my family. I'm no longer on Medicaid and as a future health care provider will be paying back any assistance I took through the steep taxes I will be paying. What infuriates me is the thought of how I was treated and how he may treat all his Medicaid patients. As a future health provider we enter the field to help people as best we can and not dictate the type of treatment and quality of service we give them based on what type of insurance they have or whether or not they have money. I seriously hope he can change his ways otherwise he has no business treating people."
