"Under no circumstances should you stay here if you have any other options. While not every room has roaches, mine does and so does my neighbor. I killed 3 in one day, and 5 in the 2 weeks leading up to that. Behind my funiture i found several dead roaches as well as a dead spider and cricket. In the vanity, there was cockroach droppings. A lot of them. When you bring this to the attention of the staff, you get sticky traps. I was told if I wanted an exterminator or a different room id have to speak to a manager on a weekday. It seems insane to me this cant be done at a lower level. This is entirely unacceptable. My stay is several months long, and the fact I'm going to be living with bugs the whole time is a serious health issue."
"Night one of an extended TDY stay at Sheppard, the front desk was helpful and put myself and my little family in a 2BR House! Extremely pleased with all of the amenities, laundry, the ability to cook and have food for my family and plenty of space for us and our newborn child. Thanks Sheppard Inn! I will update if needed at the end of our stay. But for now I’m extremely pleased."
"I think its important to rate this place in comparison to a civilian hotel and to military hotels as they are normally quite different in quality (though they shouldn't be). In comparison to civilian: 1 star for rooms / 1 star for service / 5 stars to location. In comparison to military: 3 stars for room / 2 stars for service / 5 stars for location. They have an odd requirement to barge into your room every 3 days. This is the first time I have experienced this over the past 12 years across service in multiple military branches and nearly 60 TDYs around the world. Rooms are better than found on most Army and Marine bases but still pretty rough. The beds are hard and the TVs are small. Seeing a few others rooms shows that everyone has different types and sizes of TVs. There has been issues of the cleaning staff leaving the doors ajar when they are done cleaning. They also require CE to change their HVAC systems from heat to cool (during the spring and fall seasons is rough). Most other bases have a priority or variable systems for their hotels specifically. Better go buy a sleeping bag and sleep under the heat lamp in the bathroom like a lizard. Parking is super limited and you may need to park at a different building than where you live or multiple buildings away."
"I was nervous because of the bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there are so many crickets outside, but none got into our room. There was a paper on the desk explaining the issue. There’s not much they can do about that. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean. My only complaint is the room is on the warmer side; it took a while to cool down and the AC didn’t get cooler than about 71 at night. I probably should’ve asked for a fan or brought my own. Overall it was a great stay"
