Penny's Diner

"When we first walked in we were immediately greeted with kindness and a generous welcome by the chef and staff. This is a true diner! Small and friendly, with the usual front bar option to entertain those traveling through or the booths, with all the historical regalia and retro atmosphere. It was really delicious on top of it all! Must try it. BIG pancakes!"

"Arrived at the hotel at 830, went to the diner at 840, only a few people inside, but all the tables were dirty. We sat at the bar, service was ok because they were short staffed, food was excellent."

"The burgers are one of the best! The fries and tots were equally delicious. We stumbled upon it because nothing else was open on a Sunday in Belen. It was very busy (small with few tables. We sat at counter) but the workers were fast and efficient. The staff were very friendly and we didn’t mind the wait. A pleasant surprise to find a Penny’s in New Mexico!"

"Good breakfast. Good service. The restaurant is in a what looked like a railroad dining car. As the kitchen is part of the dining room it was fascinating watching the cook make our breakfast. Hubby had chicken fried steak and I had bacon and eggs all which were delicious. Worth a stop. Easy on easy off the interstate."
