"This is one of the best restaurants in Belén. The staff is always friendly. The food is always fresh. You may not get phone reception due to the thick Adobe walls. But, I eat here as often as possible."
"Hadn't been here since 2005 and the food is still good! Chile relleno was different. Husband liked it, but I have to try it again because I didn't like the cheese they used inside of it. Waiter was very attentive and swift. But when cash is given, please don't ask if I want change back. Let me decide what I need to tip. I am always generous if service is good, but not when my change is half of what my meal cost. JS"
"First of all, the atmosphere of the restaurant is so vintage and enjoyable. This restaurant has its history of the past and who lived there back in the 1800s. It is such an authentic vibe. We have been there many times with our family. Great memories have been made there. We are so happy every time we go. The service is always great and the servers are so very friendly. We had a waitress tonight, and a waitresses helper. They were both great. I do remember Patty because she was the first server that helped our waitress. They were both friendly but Patty was exceptionally friendly. Patty dressed in an authentic mexican dress style. She was so lovely to talk to. The salsa and chips were wonderful. We were all very pleased with our meals. I have to tell you, they have absolutely the best chile rellenos that we have ever tasted anywhere. I had the enchiladas. The corn tortillas for their enchiladas are so delicious and the texture is wonderful. Some people had the stuffed Sopapillas and one had the combination plate. I have to tell you about their Italian cake or Mexican wedding cake, whatever it is called. It is to die for. There are some taste differences I noticed tonight that were different from the past. I was not pleased with the Spanish rice. I usually never have to add salt to the Mexican dishes there. Tonight, it seemed sort of bland and I did have to add salt. Not just me, there were some others at the table that also had to add salt. However, once we added the salt, everything was perfect. I just don't want the restaurant to change anything that used to be great for. Too many restaurants change something that's great. If it's already good and people love it, why change it? When you go to Belen, New Mexico, this is the place to stop and eat."
"Fantastic red chili. Carne Adovado plate, stuffed sopapilla, and green chili chicken burrito were excellent. Full of NM flavor."
