"The most wonderful stay my wife and I have ever experienced. Great location near downtown and walking distance too. Service with a smile when greeted. Breakfast served by our host. Thank you both for all you do and thank you for wonderful memories of our stay."
"Tom & Nyla, the owners of the 1899 Inn, were wonderful hosts. Tom is an author & has a few of his books for sale. The place is full of character & history. Off street parking & just a five minute walk to downtown Deadwood. There is a park nearby. Very quiet & peaceful. Nyla has a GF breakfast option if needed. A delicious breakfast was served in the dining room. We'll be back for sure. Absolutely loved it!"
"We had such a lovely stay at the 1899 Inn. Nyla and Tom, the owners, were incredibly kind by offering to give us rides to and from where we parked our car and trailer. We left our trailer connected to our car battery overnight like goofballs and Tom was there in a flash to help us jump start. Nylas homemade breakfast was excellent! Our bedroom was perfect, well kept and VERY clean! Thank you so much for our lovely stay! If we pass through here again, we will definitely be booking here."
"We stayed in one of the cottages in the back. It was very accommodating and super cozy! It had 2 cute bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. So it was more than enough space for my boyfriend and I. The couple that runs the place are very lovely. The wife made us feel welcomed and made us a delicious breakfast from scratch. The husband sat with us for a bit after breakfast and told us about his work and his adventures. It was very interesting and awesome to hear some history! It's a short walk to main street where there's a lot of places to shop, eat and gamble. We're very happy we chose this place to stay and expect to visit again sometime."
"My daughter and I did a road trip and stayed at the 1899 Inn while in Deadwood. We stayed in the Master as it had an adjoining room with a daybed. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in 6 hotels on our trip and my finicky teenage daughter said that the 1899 Inn was the best sleep she got the entire trip, and I agree. From the moment we arrived Nyla was kind, friendly, and hospitable. She asked about our itinerary and we told her that the next day we were going to Mount Rushmore. It turns out her husband, Tom, is a leading expert (if not THE leading expert) on the monument. He joined us for breakfast the next morning (which was delicious) and regaled us with stories and first hand accounts which added a whole new layer to our experience! I cannot oversell the 1899 Inn enough. From the accommodations to the owners and everything in-between, world class!"
