"You can't get better location than this. Located in the historic downtown of Deadwood. This place is a historic building. There's nothing fancy about the rooms. It's Deadwood, so why would you need a fancy room in the first place?? The cost was best in town. The casino and restaurant are top notch. The service was amazing. They help bring bags up and down from the rooms. Parking is 1 block away, and they'll shuttle you back to the hotel if you choose."
"I had my wedding here on January 12. It was amazing I couldn't have asked for better service and atmosphere. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had the best day we could have. It is a historical property not luxury this is a place you stay to appreciate the quirks of a building from 1903. I know me and our guests enjoyed every aspect"
"We stayed at the Franklin and ate at the Silverado/Franklin Grand buffet. The buffet was decent with a wide variety of different foods. We were there for prime rib night. For the price and variety the food was great. It was around $25 which is not bad for the area. I wish the dessert bar had a few more choices but all in all a decent affordable place to eat."
"We did a lot of research before visiting Deadwood. We loved that the Franklin was historic. We read reviews about the rooms in need of renovations. We were not concerned about that. The lobby was absolutely beautiful. We were supposed to stay a week but checked out after two days. We were shocked at how rude several of the staff were. We were on vacation and were so happy to be there only to be around people who obviously did not want to be at work. We will be back to Deadwood but not stay there ever again."
