"I went to Mystic Hills for a wine painting class they held. I had never been here and I was highly impressed! The owners and staff were extremely friendly and responsive to all of us ( there were probably 30 people or so.) It looks like a really sweet place to stay and their food and drinks were tasty and decently priced. It's tucked away in the hills and even though it was dark, I could tell the views were gorgeous. Will definitely be checking it out again next summer."
"We drove from Maine to SD for my brothers wedding which was held at Mystic Hills Campground. They did not disappoint, great staff and owners, great camper lots, great cabins and a super great wedding! The location allowed for the whole family and friends to stay in one place between cabins and camper lots, which was important because family was mostly from ME or MN. "We stayed in the RV campground. The site was level, gravel, and had a fire ring and picnic table. The restaurant is great! The people running the campground and restaurant were friendly and always helpful! The campground is close to trails. Deadwood is about 10 miles down the road. Mount Rushmore is about half an hour away."
"Great campground. Newer owners are working on making improvements to entire campground. Only issue was our fire pit needed to be moved more to the middle of our site. It was at the rear & too close to our fuel tank on camper to safely have a fire. Beautiful area & owners & staff friendly. Felt right at home when in cafe/general store just visiting with them."
"A group of us stayed here for 4 nights and booked 3 of the large pull through sites. Upon our arrival our sites were clean and ready for us. Unfortunately due to prior long term customers, 2 of the 3 sites had not received the new gravel and extra attention the surrounding sites had. Not a huge deal, but it did make them a bit messy when the storms rolled in. The sites themselves were good size and really easy to get our 40'+ toy haulers into and out of. This is one of the only campgrounds we noticed while riding that was actually in the trees, not out in a wide open grassy field. That was a huge plus to our group. We did eat in the restaurant one time, and it was your average bar style food, good, but nothing great. It was a rainy evening, so it was packed, but the service was slow. All the workers were busy, not being lazy at all and they were very friendly, just seemed to be short staffed. Owner spoke to our group a couple of times as he was making his rounds on the camp ground and he was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with this campground and its location/amenities. We will be staying at Mystic Hills on our next Black Hills visit for sure."
