"The Child Care Licensing program is a joke. Their system, instructions, and process for licensing are so unclear, disorganized, and completely void of decent customer service. It's makes it so difficult to get licensed. For example, they say you need to get fingerprints, they give you a list of places where you can, BUT they don't tell you that those fingerprints need to be submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, or that when you spend $8 to mail in your fingerprint cards to their office, they'll waste your money and theirs' by mailing it back to you because there's a $12 processing fee they didn't tell you about? Why not just keep the documents, email, call or inform me that you have them and ask for a payment? And THEN make sure it's CLEAR on your website and other communication that that is the requirement? Not to mention if you happen to overpay $60+ on through their website because they say in one place you need to pay the fee, THEN AFTER you pay, you find out you that fee wasn't actually required. But guess what, they don't refund your money. You can only use that money in their system. It's no wonder child care services anywhere are a nightmare. The system is a nightmare. The lesson I'm learning from this is they are NOT in it to help you, or help the children. There's way too many politics to the point of corruption in their current system there is no way they are there to help anyone. I've wasted so much money trying to get licensed to help some friends and have to start all over. For the amount of money that runs through this program and the kind of technology we have available today, the process could be way SIMPLER and way more user-friendly. I understand the need for ensuring quality of care, I would want the same for my children, but the level of friction, the amount of fees you have to pay them just to submit every single required document, and the difficulty of figuring it out how to do it is laughable. Again, this program is a joke. What a nightmare."
"I left crying because I was treated so poorly today. Both ladies in the back office who check for payment of finger prints were short and did a poor job today. I was there 2 hours trying to figure out payment and they both kept trying to send me home. All their answers to me were “no” “no” please do your job especially in customer service and give people options and actually care. I’m mortified."
"The people who work here are simply rude. If you're looking to be treated with the slightest amount of human decency & respect, this is not the facility to go to."
