"Loud neighbors. Office will not do anything about it either. Management is useless and not helpful whatsoever. Buildings smell like pot. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet DO NOT go south ridge. It’s like living in section 8 housing."
"The heat has been broken since move in day, which was all the way back in October. It is now February, smack in the middle of winter, in one of the coldest cities in the US without functioning heat. Their “maintenance” is never able to fix it, and they demand full pay of rent or eviction after months of asking them to fix this. The way these people treat their tenants is unheard of. Totally unfair and terrible living conditions. DO NOT LIVE HERE."
"2 months with a defective heating system in the middle of winter. They continue calling the same company that has failed to fix the problem several times now. I sent them an email stating that I am simply waiting on an update, a resolution, some type of compensation for this before paying rent and got an eviction notice the next day. No call, no email, no contact, no one checking on the heating issue, nothing. Am I in the wrong here? I don’t get it."
"Absolutely horrible! Outrageous move out fees without any proof of receipt. Also the rent they state is nowhere near what you’ll pay, all kinds of hidden fees and “waivers”. There is another class action forming against this company (Greystar) and will not be the first or last time! Nothing but a money grab."
"3rd update after providing proof with pics of the baseboards, carpet, floors and the mess the apartment was when we moved in, they refuse to work with us and say it's our faults and we are responsible for paying. Update as of moving out July of 2023. Moved into the apartment April of 2022, apartment was an absolute mess. GF and I took almost 2 days of cleaning to make it look decent. Baseboards have chew marks on every corner they just painted over, carpet in the master bedroom looked like someone drug their feet on it everyday all day. Now as of moving out, I'm being charged for baseboards being replaced, carpet replacement and cleaning. They will go out of their way to get every cent out of you possible while providing absolutely bare minimum to you. Yet again absolutely would go out of my way to never rent from a grey star owned property. Highly do not recommend. The company that is used for snow removal takes days at times to clear parking lot and garages. Wading thru waist deep snow drifts to get to my pick up to go to work 2 days after it snows is a great time. I am going on 3 weeks now of not being able to enter my garage because they can't get a part for it. 3 whole garage rows have no power and their solution is to just unlock the doors and leave them open. I and I'm sure others have tools and other belongs in there. I have on 3 separate occasions had the heat on my apartment not work. Maintenance came and tried to fix it with no luck, had to heat my apartment with electric heaters for almost a week for the plumbing and heating company to come fix it. I pay for heat and then had to pay extra on my electric bill for their heat being broken. Washer and dryers are terrible, have to put my clothes thru about 3 drying cycles to get them to dry. They are not big loads either and had maintenance come 3 different times 1 time replacing the dryer and gave up trying to get it fixed and just run the dryer 3 times. Happening in both units I rented. Let me say maintenance guys are great, friendly and respectful just giving jobs that is a bit out of their scope or not given the necessary tools to do the job. Windows are terrible, incredibly hard to lock and open because they are so cheap so you are best just leaving them shut or enjoy fighting them locked. Both units where the same as well with terrible windows. Plumbing inspections on 3 different occasions within a year. Plumbers tracked water, and my kitchen sink leaked after. Never had an issue before they showed up so having to fix my sink so I can make food after working all day. Lease is subject to change, my lease says nothing about pet rent or pet deposit but after getting a dog they ask you to pay it so make sure to ask about anything you do since it may not be in the lease but will effect you. I'll accept this one that I should of asked but figured I didn't need to having read the lease before I got the dog. Also rules seem to apply only to certain people, I had a trailer towed after leaving it in the over flow parking lot for one night because I got back late and needed to get to work. Many other trailers sit there for days even weeks and never touched or towed away. Wish I had looked more and harder at different places. Highly recommend you doing so as well."
