"I moved into the Ellipse townhouses in 2020 and called it my home for just over two years. I had a very good experience with the original management and really enjoyed my beautiful home. In 2023, a couple of months before I moved out, the new owner and management came in, and one of my payments was not found after the transfer of information. I showed proof of payment from my end (Always keep your electronic receipts.) and was told I would be refunded. It has been almost a year, and I still have not been refunded for the double charge for rent I paid, nor have I received any return calls nor email replies. Very disappointing."
"I have lived in the townhomes since they were built. After constant turnover, the temporary management they have in place now I have found to be awful. Last month, (September) I received a notice on my door right after paying rent that I owed almost $600 with no explanation whatsoever. I went in to pay it today and tried to get to the bottom of what it was all about. The gatekeeper in the front office offered that I could talk to the accounting person in back, but that person refused to come ad speak to me. She just yelled from the back office that it was rent charges from back in MAY. Classy Customer Service skills, I must say. She also yelled from the back to the gatekeeper not once, but twice that my check could not be accepted until my October rent was paid. I also found that quite charming. Sheila or other managers may have made mistakes, but they never made me feel the way I felt today."
"Probably has to be one of the worst places that I have lived, since I have lived her which has been almost two years now I have had an issue with one of my neighbors and I am not the only one to have a complaint about them. I have tried to report it and made me sound crazy or like I was being annoying by the office management then they assured me that they would fix the problem but never did anything about it. There is lack of communication and organization in the office from the beginning. I will say the communication got a little better after new management but still not great. There is always something wrong with the appliances which is why I decided to move here was because of them. My ice machine has been broken since July and no one has came to even look at it. Every time I bring it up they say someone should be in to look at it within a week. Still nothing til this day. They screwed up my rent multiple times saying I was paying to much in rent and now trying to say I owe them money which is outrageous because I have always paid for what I was supposed on time since I have been there. I had to miss hours at work to try and go in to figure this situation out but they told me it would be dealt with and they would look into it. They called me accusing me of not paying my bills and when I assured them that wasn’t right they asked me to call in the next morning and that they would look into it AGAIN. When I called the next morning she asked if I could come in because I caught her at a weird time. I told her I couldn’t when they’re only open from 9-5 and I work from 7:45-5 Mon-Friday. Especially because I already missed hours to go in and figure it out the first time. She said that she would look into again and send me an email but I have not received anything back. I understand things are hard when short staffed and I have been patient through everything but this is not okay. Nothing gets resolved here and nobody has given me any numbers for higher ups that I have asked for a couple of times now."
"The new management has gone above and beyond what was here before. Sheila is particularly helpful, kind, and cares genuinely about her tenants. In the short few months I've known her, she's been more helpful and involved on a personal level than in the past 5 years dealing with Thistle. I would highly recommend working with her as a property manager. I can't speak to the Ellipse apartments directly, as I lived in the Lumine Apartments, but Sheila is great!"
"Just switched management companies a few months ago so there's a new staff in the office. 5 stars because the property manager Sheila is such an understanding person and seems genuinely committed to doing right by the residents. She goes above and beyond to be kind and helpful. The other staff member I met was also very nice. When the apartments were managed by Thistle, they had a lot of staffing and communication issues - I'm really impressed with the turnaround though. (The maintenance people have always been great though) I've lived here for about 1.5 years. It's an affordable housing complex so you have to qualify as low-income. (The complex that shares the lot with us is market-price and under a different name)"
