"I lived there in the final semester of my doctoral program. That was 2008 when the rent was only $600. Great location. Nice manager. What I loved about the place was that they gave tenants license to remodel and design the units any way we wanted and they encouraged creativity. They set up an apartment design contest awarding the most unique unit. They encouraged a sense of community. The only downsides were the handful of shady tenants (my next door neighbors were regular crazed, loud meth heads and she was a clothes kleptomaniac, stealing hordes of women's items from the laundry room. - I discovered a handful of my lingerie in her basket.) My unit was on the north end next to an alley and dumpster area. The smell was unbearably foul. Especially in the summer."
"I honestly loved my 2.5 year stay in this complex. The maintenance guy, Jim, is amazing. Truly, one of the most genuinely kind people I have ever met. I also dealt with the supervisor very frequently, and she was always kind, and clear about everything. Living here was, overall, a superb experience for me. Please keep in mind that this is NOT a luxury apartment complex. These are affordable studios built over 50 years ago, and they look like it. There are folks who complain about the fact that they don't always answer the phone, and are not always at the office. Well, yes. But this is not a corporate owned apartment complex (at least it was not when I was there). They run it like a small business, so you can't expect people to be available all of the time. In general, I would leave a message, schedule an appointment time to meet with Karen, and she would almost always be there during our scheduled appointment. As a tenant who was never late on rent, and left the apartment in a good condition, I never had any problems. The few repair issues that I needed were taken care of in a prompt and professional manner (had a leak in my heater once, and an issue in the bathroom as well). Again, these apartments are OLD, REALLY OLD. You can't expect perfection. If you are a graduate student, this place is awesome, as the area is quite quiet (except during football season). Try to get an apartment facing the back, fenced off yard, as you will have a much better time / more privacy than one facing the street. There is one complaint that I do have, and I suggest that the management consider this as they move forward. Please, do not prioritize parking for paying customers during football games over tenants. It is a nightmare for us! Every football season, they will charge a few bucks for people coming to see the CU football games to park. I get it, it makes good money, but it makes life for tenants really miserable if we need to go out during those days. Honestly, that is my biggest complaint after living there for 2.5 years. In closing, I would recommend this complex. The people living here are cool, the maintenance guy is awesome, and the area is incredible. Great walking paths, a beautiful creek next to the apartment, and very conveniently located (stores, campus, etc. all walking distance). I found the owners / managers to be quite nice and fair as well. Heck, when I ended up moving away, I was able to get most of my deposit back as I made every effort to leave the apartment in good condition. As long as you have realistic standards, you can be very happy here."
"If I could give zero stars, I would. I first started looking at harvest manor in the earlier parts of 2017. I set up a viewing pretty quickly and looked at it. When we showed up, the person who was supposed to show us a room at 10 wasn't there. A woman sitting in the office said that he had called us and said to push it back until 10:30. But what had actually happened was he called his appointment before us and told her to come in at 10:30. We never got a call. I was shown three rooms that were vacant. We were told that there was a turnover of about 5-10 apartments usually. We then asked Mike where we stood (if we had a good chance of getting an apartment). He told us yes and we would hear about vacancies the first week of July. My roommate and I filled out our applications on a Wednesday and gave it back to them on a Sunday. To ensure that they had gotten our applications I called. No answer. My roommate called, no answer. We waited two weeks for an answer. I then emailed them. They replied two days later saying they had the applications and we should receive an email with our background checks to complete. Two more weeks went by with no background check email. I emailed them they replied a week later saying that they could send them again. Which I knew they hadn't sent in the first place. I received the background check about three days later. These were from a separate company who responded quickly to me asking if my roommate had to fill out a separate one. I urged my roommate to reach out to them and ask for her background check. She got hers 5 days after me and I got a new one. Neither my roommate or I have had any evictions, felonies, or bad credit. They didn't respond to anything sent after July 3rd. I called on July 15th telling them I still hadn't heard back about vacancies that we should have found out the first week of July. When I emailed them the same day they replied the 19th saying they were full. So long story short, they told us they had an apartment for us pretty much guaranteed, ran us around for two and a half months, and left us hanging late July when almost everything in Boulder is gone. They are messily run and disorganized."
