"We stayed in this campground in early August 2023. We arrived late in the afternoon on a Monday and there were several sites to choose from. It is well maintained. The vault toilet restrooms were clean, not stinky and well-stocked. There are two hand-pump wells for potable water available. It is conveniently located in a very scenic valley on the south section of the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, about 11 miles by a good condition, unpaved road from Hwy 149, south of Lake City. It was very quiet and peaceful."
"Great campground! Beautiful views, peaceful & quiet with some curious wildlife! Ready to go back!"
"Stumbling across this campground late in the afternoon after coming over Cinnamon Pass was very fortuitous. I visited in the latter half of September so it was only about one third full. I'm sure in the summer you need to get there early to get a spot. Was only $7/night, very clean vault toilets, drinking water via a hand cranked pump. Beautiful and quiet."
"Gorgeous, only $7/night, and with relievingly less creek noise than other campgrounds I'd been at! Other treats included the toilets (so clean, they had to be new this season), drinking water pump, and bear box. The one downside was my struggle to drive my tent stakes in without a hammer or rock, but I'd been spoiled by dispersed camping on softer surfaces"
"Great Campground! Spent some time talking with the camp hosts and they were super friendly and helpful. Site was clean and easy to use. Had a couple of flat spots to set up my tent. We saw some deer running through the woods. Cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen - smell was clean too!! Other campers were friendly and respectful and the quiet hours were observed. And you can't beat the price at $7/night."
