"We were looking for lodging in Montrose for our visit to the Black Canyon, and all the hotels seemed really pricey for what you were getting. So we checked Air BnB and found the Old School Lodge. What a great find! Although it’s just outside of Montrose, the location was great. It’s really more like a traditional BnB (without the hosts being onsite or breakfast), in that you’re in a large building with several rooms. We stayed in Room #1, which is close to the front door, but we never heard any noise or disturbances. The smart locks on the front door and our room made us feel very secure, and made checking in quite easy. The Lodge is really cool - the room was beautifully appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the common areas were clean and lovely. We were initially a bit stumped by the shower - when you turn on the water for the bathtub, there’s a ring on the faucet you have to pull down on to get the shower activated. Our hosts were very responsive, and there was even a small basket of goodies and water in the room. I would definitely recommend this lodging and would absolutely stay there again."

"We had a great weekend at the Old School Lodge! This place has character yet it is so cozy and has some nice amenities. Very quiet, hardly heard anyone else there. Easy to get in and it felt clean. The beds were cozy and there was plenty of space. Will recommend it to anyone I know who is in the area!"

"Beautiful accommodations in a very unique building. Very roomy with a cozy feel that was ideal for our family of four. The rooms were impeccably clean and the grounds were the same. We really appreciated that we were given a variety of snacks, coffees, teas, and bottled water! The toiletries were similarly abundant. The shared space was equally beautiful. My daughter is a pianist and she enjoyed playing the piano for other guests and there were a number of other available activities. The owners really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure that we were given quality service. The Cordova-Jewell family will definitely be back!"
