"This place is great for hanging out with friends and having a few drinks. The meals are really good but big, so you could probably share most things with another person. Drinks are a little pricy, but average for downtown. Great for holiday inspired drinks."
"The decorations look great; however, as soon as you walk in the door it is packed person to person. There isn’t really a waiting area, which makes it feel like you’re in a club just smushed in like sardines. When we sat down, we were at a table at the front, which doubled as the waiting area. It really kills the vibe when you’re surrounded by folks waiting for a table. It also made me feel very claustrophobic, and I’m sure it doesn’t help their wait staff with their jobs, having to carry food out through tons of people. I felt like I couldn’t move or I’d bump into someone waiting for a table. They were adamant to tell us multiple times about the dining time limit before we sat down. That just bothers me. If you’ve informed us when we made the reservation, it feels very impersonal and rude to harp on that before it’s even a problem. The food was okay…there was nothing wrong with it but not worth the price they charge. It’s extremely expensive, then they also add a 2.5% credit card fee. My friend ordered a cookie shot (which cost like $15!) and she got like 2/3 the amount of alcohol that the other person in our group got in her same shot. It was leaking and normally it wouldn’t be a big deal - but at that price?! Come on now."
"This spot has cookie shots & is decked out for Christmas… Felix Navidad at My Neighbor Felix in LoHi has returned! We arrived at the restaurant, and we were seated in the main dining room; the entire place was decked out in tinsel and Christmas lights. My Neighbor Felix had a 'Felix Navidad' menu with numerous holiday drinks that we couldn't wait to try. Our server - Kris - was a doll. She was super knowledgeable on the seasonal menu. She helped us pick out cocktails & food based on our taste preferences. We started with a round of Santa's Cookie N Milk Shots made with peppermint rumchata, Casamigos reposado, peppermint schnapps, and half & half. The cutest holiday shots I have ever seen! The shot glasses were chocolate chip cookies that we ate after we drank the shot - so fun. The Coco Caliente was made with hot chocolate, el jimador reposado, chocolate liqueur, & whipped cream. It was easy to keep cozy with this warm wintry, Mexican inspired hot chocolate laced with tequila. The Coco Caliente came in the cutest, winking Santa mug. This was my favorite holiday cocktail of Felix Navidad. The Winter Coconut Cosmo was made with Tito's Vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, real coconut syrup, & simple syrup. This winter cosmo was gorgeous & refreshing. The Mistletoe Margarita was made with Casamigos reposado, apple cider, lemon juice, cranberry juice, & cinnamon sugar. This was a solid cranberry marg with a holiday twist. For appetizers we started with the Queso Fundido Skillet and the Guacamole Fresco. The Queso Fundido Skillet was made with oaxaca cheese, ranchero cheese, jalapeño, caramelized onions, & goddess hibiscus chips. The queso came to the table piping hot in the skillet and the oaxaca cheese & ranchero cheese were molten & made for melty, creamy cheese pulls. The Short Rib Birria Tacos were made with short rib birria, red onion, cilantro, tomatillo arbol salsa, corn tortilla, & consomé. The birria tacos were filled with juicy, shredded short rib and made for super savory bites. For meat lovers, these tacos are for you. The Pescado Frito Tacos were made with tempura battered mahi mahi, chipotle guajillo crema, creamy habanero cabbage, mango-piña salsa, cotija cheese, cilantro, & hibiscus corn tortillas. The fish tacos held generous pieces of warm, battered mahi that were topped with crisp cabbage & cool crema - the texture and temperature differentiation on each bite was great."
