Red Rock Canyon Open Space

"Another fantastic space in Colorado Springs. A very easy trail takes you all over the place. The rock formations are beautiful and easy to crest at certain locations. You really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere at certain points. I observed climbers carrying a lot of climbing gear back to the parking lot, and then saw several places you could climb with a permit. I love this place."

"As the founder and admin of a hiking group with 12,000+ members this is and always will be one of my favorite parks to hike and take pictures of the beautiful scenery here in the springs!! I have heard this open space referred to as Garden of the Goddess where there is a hidden magical staircase leading to breathtaking views of the park and pikes peak. This is a dog-friendly, family friendly park. It isn't crowded or touristy most days. There are loop trails for every hiking skill level. It gets a bit icy and muddy in winter so I recommend trekking poles, proper hiking shoes, maybe spikes or snow shoes."

"Red Rock Canyon Open Space is probably my favorite place to hike in all of Colorado Springs, as well as being one of the best places I've ever hiked, period. Its not far from Garden of the Gods, but I think it is a lot better and more beautiful of a hiking destination than Garden of the God's is. The amount of variation in the different types of terrain is absolutely amazing and beautiful. Red Rock Canyon is also always a lot less busy than Garden of the Gods. It is free and there is always plenty of parking."

"Very cool spot. Seems a lot of the part is pretty easily accessible and not far from parking. Great views. Good spot for a quick Hike or to spend the day. A lot of different trails so if you go after you can mix it up. Looks to be a bike course on the left side. Had a lot of fun for the short time I was there. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area"
