"This was a neat stop in Colorado Springs learning about mining! We had a wonderful guide give us a quick tour and demonstration of the machines in the museum. Definitely recommend!! You can also pan for gold if you choose."
"We had a nice time at the museum today and received a wonderful tour from our guide. He was super knowledgeable and very patient with us as we walked through each part of the museum. It was nice that they kind of modeled a portion of the museum as if we were in a real mine. There is also a bunch of machinery that still works and our guide gave us a sample of each one of them as we walked through the museum."
"Definitely do one of the guided tours. The written materials are good but the tour gives you demonstrations of how the engines worked. Amazing how these heavy mining machines were moved and used."
"Totally enjoyed the museum. Lots to see and to learn. Staff was very informative."
"This little museum was surprisingly interesting and very well done. They offer a fairly quick guided tour that even the children enjoyed, and their old steam engines now operate on compressed air and are quite impressive. They've built some extraordinary structures on their grounds."
