"I took our truck in for a TCS light and cruise control not working. The team repaired both within just a few hours and the truck is functioning perfectly again. I’ve been going to Scotty’s for several years now for this exact reason. They’re real professionals."
"Dropped my vehicle off for oil change and had brought my own oil filter just to save time, got my bill and they charged me “time and half labor for customer provided parts”. I’ve never had this issue before any other place. It would have been nice if they would have told me that was “company policy” I could have returned my filter and paid the up charge on parts. Also they didn’t provide me any information on tires, brake, leaks or my alignment specs."
"Took my 92 4runner in for an alignment. Previous alignment at a different shop said frame was tweaked and wouldn't be able to align perfectly. Scotty's called to give me the bad news that is was quite severely bent and caster way out of spec, and also gave me an alignment printout which previous shop didn't. I also asked them to give me a quote for some exhaust work. After our conversation I came to pick it up fully expecting to have to still pay an alignment fee and diagnosing fee for exhaust. They did not charge me at all and gave a good recommendation for a frame straightening shop. As I went to leave my battery was failing and wouldn't start and I hated having to ask for a jump box. One of the employees eagerly helped me and got me going again. I will wholeheartedly return to Scotty's for automotive work I don't want to do myself or can't. Hard to find honest and fair mechanics that have integrity. Been to dealerships before that you pay for the service regardless if they are able to perform or not. Or they charge a diagnosis fee even though it's obvious or previously diagnosed elsewhere. Will be recommending Scotty's to my friends with automotive needs."
"Scotty’s was a great experience. Had full service oil change. I liked that they did the job without rushing into it. Other lube shops get you in and out quickly. Scotty’s took there time and did the job right."
"I've thought long and hard about whether or not to write this review. I've been a customer of Scotty's for close to 10 years and thought they were the best in the business. I really liked how they were a small, local business and not a big car dealership or chain. All the employees are quite friendly and I was usually greeted by name. However, the last time I went in for an oil change, they left the cap off of my radiator and sent me on my way. I'm quite sure this was an accident, however, l live quite a ways from Grand Junction, which includes 30 minutes on the highway. I drove all the way home not knowing that my radiator cap was off. My car was acting a little strange but it was dark, late at night and I was very tired. The next morning my car started up just fine but smelled a bit off. As I was heading to work, I got on the road and about the time I hit the highway my temperature gauge started going crazy and I saw smoke pouring out of my car. I stopped, but I couldn't tell if anything was really wrong so I kept going. I called Scotty's as I had just been there the day before. They told me to try and get it into town and if I couldn't, to have it towed in. I literally coasted into the parking lot a block from them and then my car died and would not start again. I walked down to the office, and a very nice young man got the manager and they walked me back to my car. I was told that they found a radiator cap on the floor the night before and had no clue where it came from. The young man said he assumed it must be from my car. He apologized profusely and said he would do whatever he could to make sure my car was okay. The manager never said anything to me. Not hello, no eye contact, nothing. They both looked at my car for a while and had a conversation which I did not hear. I don't know what they did to the radiator but the car started again and the kind, young man, whose name I'm sorry I do not have, drove it to the shop. The two ladies in the front of the office that run the front, did not make eye contact or speak to me while I waited. I was very concerned about my car, frustrated, and starting to become a little confused. The manager completely disappeared. The young man came out and said that they did everything they could for my car including cleaning it off from where the radiator fluid exploded all over my engine. I asked if I could speak to the manager and the young man looked very embarrassed and said the manager wasn't available. He said that my car should be fine now, and he again apologized, profusely. Again, I asked if the manager was going to come talk to me or explain how something like this could happen? I couldn't believe it. My car could have been permanently damaged. Not to mention l spent over an hour and a half terrified that my only mode of transportation was going to be ruined. I have no idea where to go to get my oil changed now because the Hyundai dealership and Grease Monkey have both done similar things to my vehicles in the past. The attitude by everyone at Scotty's with the exception of the kind young man was like I had done something wrong. I am appalled that the manager did not come out and have a conversation with me and express his regret for the situation. I understand that mistakes happen, even when it is the beginning of your shift, you may accidentally drop a radiator cap on the ground and not see it. But the dismissive, and heartless way I was treated is what I'm really the most unhappy about. Be careful if you go to Scotty's. Make sure you lift your hood and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be. I would not wish for anyone else to have such a negative experience."
