"Dr. Keshwani argued with me about when my last period was. The last period before pregnancy is used to calculate the due date. I started going into labor two weeks before the due date HE gave. So he stopped my labor. For two weeks. During every contraction my daughters heart would slowly drop and rise. He told me that the monitor was just picking up my heart rate. If it were picking up my heart rate, it would have been a quick jump. So he waited till after my "due date" and when I come in with severe back pain from the pressure, being over due, was putting on my spine.... he decides to induce me! You've never known the real joy of child birth till you've had induced back labor. So as I labor, my daughters heart rate is still rising and falling, and I'm still being told I'm a stupid woman who knows nothing of her own body or childbirth. After many, many hours of labor, she starts to crown but seems to be stuck so they put a monitor on her head. Turns out her heart rate is falling with every contraction (ya think?). The cord is wrapped around her neck, and she's too big to get her free manually (well she wouldn't have been two weeks earlier!), so joy of joys, it's off to the O.R. for an emergency C-section. According to the surgeon, she was two weeks late, judging from the amount of meconium in the womb. My daughter was born BLUE because of this hack. Those moments from birth till first breath were long and terrifying. She's 14 years old now and still has skin problems because she spent two weeks floating in her own feces. We're just lucky she didn't suffer any loss of cognitive function. We went back for her one week follow up (yeah, I was young, what can I say), he comes in talking about how it's normal for babies to lose weight during the first week and nothing to get upset about. He hadn't even looked at her chart. She gained 6 ounces in her first week out of the womb. He didn't care enough about my daughter as a patient to even glance at her chart."
