"Been going there for over 40 years. Shorr wait for an appointment. I was late and they made it work. Exam was quick and he said unless I wanted new glasses there was enough change to justify replacing the lens. Customer first as always. Not the cheapest but the best."

"Whenever I need new glasses, McDonald Optical is the place I go to. I like something a little different than the usual re: extensive color of frames, various lense tints, and various lense shapes, and McDonalds has it all. Sillhoettes or ITALLE Kawasaki's are what I buy and as far as I know, McDonald's is the only optical store that handles them in Iowa City. They are beautiful and "different than the ordinary" frames that other optical stores carry, especially the Kawasaki's. McDonalds is a wonderful store. Besides having the best frames, their staff is excellent, especially Nicole, who has helped me with my recent purchase."
"I've been doing my annual eye exams and ordering my contact lenses through McDonald Optical's downtown location for about five years and I couldn't be happier with the services provided. I've seen two optometrists there and both have been excellent and very, very knowledgeable. The reception staff is always friendly and helpful.
