Women's Wellness and Counseling Service, located at 200 Hawkins Drive in Iowa City, Iowa, is a health institution dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with mental health concerns during and after pregnancy. Whether you are trying to conceive, adjusting to pregnancy and parenthood, or coping with perinatal loss, our team is here to help. We offer evidence-based treatment in a safe and supportive environment.

Our outpatient perinatal mental health clinic is the only one of its kind in Iowa, providing both psychotherapy and medication management services. If you are unable to come to the clinic in person, we also offer telehealth services via secure video calls. Additionally, our therapists can provide mental health care in the NICU and OB-GYN Maternal Substance Use Disorder Clinic, as well as for hospitalized individuals before delivery.

You can self-refer to our services by contacting our scheduling team, who will work with your other health care providers to ensure coordinated care. Our multidisciplinary team includes therapists, medication experts, and specialists trained in reproductive mental health care. We conduct research and education programs to enhance your care and are committed to providing you with personalized treatment plans to meet your needs and goals.

During your first appointment, your provider will conduct a thorough assessment and work with you to develop a customized treatment plan. Our goal is to improve your mood and functioning quickly, using treatments that have been proven effective for perinatal and reproductive mental health issues. You will always have a voice in your care, and we prioritize active collaboration and honest communication between you and your provider.
