"After having foot surgery in December, 2021, I was still having some residual foot pain five months out. My podiatrist suggested I do some physical therapy and recommended the Physical Therapy Department at Des Moines University. I’ve had past experience with several physical therapy clinics but never with Des Moines University. I have to say that my experience with Des Moines University was, by far, the best I’ve ever experienced. The support staff personnel, both in the downtown and West Des Moines locations are extremely proficient, kind, and caring. They are top notch! My physical therapist, Sharon Johansen, was the best therapist I have ever had the privilege of working with. She offered a wealth of information, exercises, and practical tips that, in short time, brought me significant improvement and pain relief. She not only took a sincere interest in my case, but she was also very personable and kind. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone seeking competent and effective physical therapy with a personal touch. While I have given Des Moines University Physical Therapy five stars, they deserve many more."

"I wanted to be able to get up and out of chairs, and up and down from the floor to be able to play with my grandchildren. My son told me to reach out to the DMU PT Clinic. I contacted them and started working with Dr. Mach. Dr. Mach was a very good listener, and helped me to set my goals. She was encouraging and sympathetic in starting my exercise program. She made the exercises easy to follow, and was a terrific teacher. She pushed my limits, but never pushed so hard that I over did it. I saw progress after just a few sessions, and with her help I can follow and continue my exercise program at home. I am excited to be moving better and am on my way to achieving my movement goals! The facility was, clean and welcoming from the first step in the door with the receptionist, to the use of all the equipment which was clean and in new condition. "I cannot recommend, enough, the DSMU Physical Therapy Clinic. The staff are all wonderful and friendly! I initially put off my first referral and in hindsight, really wish I hadn’t. I had debilitating pain, in my neck, arm, and shoulder. When I finally decided the pain was too much and asked for another referral. Dr. Michelle Brown, wonderfully, helped me rid that pain. With her generosity and experience, within just a little over a month. The pain went from a 9 to 0, I feel even better than before the injury! If you’re on the fence, about trying physical therapy, don’t be like me. Again, I highly recommend, both Michelle and DSMU Clinics. Thank you all, so much!"
